This love movie is an epic story about being forced apart and set on different paths, but somehow finding each other in the end. The unrealistic expectation given to us by Endless Love is simple: people do not always find their way back to each other. After spending two years apart, Jade and David inevitably end up together and live happily ever after. Could it happen? Sure. Just don’t get your hopes up.

2. The Notebook

A classic love movie that has made us all shed a tear. Noah and Allie fall madly in love and it seems to be a fairy tale, however, they are forced apart due to different class status. So what’s the unrealistic expectation? Noah would move fricken mountains (and build an entire house) to win back Allie. This could happen, sure… If you find this kind of dedication and drive in a partner, KEEP THEM.

3. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

The recently released teen love movie had us all believing we had a chance with the most popular guy in school. Unfortunately, this kind of maturity in high school boys is rare. Not saying it could never happen, just saying that it’s rare.

An absolute gut wrenching love movie that could put anyone in their feels. The Last Song tells the story of how Ronnie and Will fall in love against all odds and trying times. Their unbreakable bond and love triumphs over countless difficult situations including the death of Ronnie’s father. While overcoming situations like this in a relationship is definitely possible, the ease that Ronnie and Will do it with is what’s unrealistic here.

5. Dear John

Long distance relationships are hard. They are even harder when your significant other is enlisted in active duty. The unrealistic expectation here is not the long distance, but not only do John and Savannah don’t end up together in the end, Savannah ends up marrying a friend in John’s absence. Que the tears and heartbreak.

6. Friends with Benefits

We’ve all been there before. Any no strings attached situation can be difficult at times trying not to catch feelings. Usually the feelings emerge and it ruins everything. In the end of Friends with Benefits, however, the opposite happens. Jamie and Dylan BOTH catch feelings and live happily ever after. Again, just don’t get your hopes up.

The unrealistic expectation here is of course that Bella is surrounded by supernatural beings… but also the fact that she is caught in a love triangle over the span of three movies and both Edward and Jacob allow it? Dream on, girl.

A classic love movie that had us all dancing along. This is another love story where a couple is divided by different levels of economic classes. The unrealistic expectation? The balls Johnny has when he stands up to his lover’s father. “Nobody puts Baby in a corner”. Swoon.

Who could forget the epic story of Jenna and Matty’s forever growing love? Now, we aren’t saying there’s still a chance you could marry your best childhood friend after 30 years of growing apart… but hey…nothing’s impossible, right?

The ultimate epic love movie If we’ve ever seen one! The heartbreaking story of falling in love, growing apart, and facing death. We love that Adam LITERALLY brings Mia out of a coma and convinces her to stay on Earth and be alive… we just wouldn’t tell you it could happen in real life.
