Long And Bingeworthy TV Shows

Do you enjoy watching a TV show while you clean or doing schoolwork? Or maybe you enjoy having a single show to binge-watch when you have a day off. 

This list will have some of the best long and bingeworthy TV shows so you can sit back and relax.

1. Criminal Minds

“The cases of the F.B.I. Behavioral Analysis Unit (B.A.U.), an elite group of profilers who analyze the nation’s most dangerous serial killers and individual heinous crimes in an effort to anticipate their next movies before they strike again.”

Criminal Minds aired its first episode on September 22, 2005, and its final episode on February 19, 2020. The show has 15 seasons and 324 episodes altogether, but there is a plan to reboot this television show for its sixteenth season. 

The show has a 8.1/10 rating on IMDb. You can find all 15 seasons on the streaming app, Hulu.

This is one of my most rewatched TV shows, and with 15 seasons, you will have plenty of content.

2. ER

“The lives, loves, and losses of the doctors and nurses of Chicago’s County General Hospital.” 

ER is a medical series drama that aired its first episode on September 19, 1994. The final episode aired on NBC on April 2, 2009. There are 15 seasons and 331 episodes – perfect for binge-watching. This show has a 7.8/10 rating on IMDb, and you find all the episodes on Hulu.

This is one of those TV shows I consider one of the first medical series dramas, with plenty of episodes to watch.

3. Grey’s Anatomy (Spinoffs: Station 19, Private Practice, Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team)

“A drama centered on the personal and professional lives of five surgical interns and their supervisors.”

Grey’s Anatomy is one of the most popular medical dramas today and still produces new episodes. It has 19 seasons and 400 episodes (October 20, 2022). The first episode aired on March 27, 2005. Grey’s Anatomy has a 7.6/10 rating. This is a great show if you ever need some good drama and a good cry in your life. 

Station 19 follows men and women that work at firehouse station 19 in Seattle. A few episodes include the cast of Grey’s Anatomy, and you can get the best of both worlds. It is still getting new seasons and episodes, currently at six seasons and 82 episodes. The rating for Station 19 is 6.8/10.

Private Practice is a spinoff revolving around a character featured on Grey’s Anatomy, Addison Montgomery. It has six seasons and 112 episodes. Private Practice has a 6.7/10 rating.

Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team is a six-episode web series that closely looks at the new interns at Grey Sloan Memorial.

Grey’s Anatomy is one of my favorite TV shows when I need a good cry and a break from my other shows.

4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Spinoffs: Angel)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a television show based on the movie of the same name, released in 1992. 

“A young woman, destined to slay vampires, demons and other infernal creatures, deals with her life fighting evil, with the help of her friends.” 

Buffy has seven seasons and 145 episodes. The first episode air date was March 10, 1997, and the final episode was aired on May 20, 2003. It has an 8.3/10 rating.

Angel: “The vampire Angel, cursed with a soul, moves to Los Angeles and aids people with supernatural-related problems while questing for his own redemption.” Angel has five seasons and 111 episodes. Angel has a 7.9/10 rating. 

You can find both of these series on Hulu. I love watching those TV shows from the 90s because it is a good blast from the past.

5. Lost

“The survivors of a plan crash are forced to work together in order to survive on a seemingly deserted tropical island.” 

Lost first aired on September 22, 2004, and its final episode was aired on May 23, 2004. Altogether, the show has six seasons and 120 episodes. The show has an 8.3/10 rating on IMDb.

6. The X-Files

“Two F.B.I. agents, Fox Mulder the believer and Dana Scully the skeptic, investigate the strange and unexplained, while hidden forces work to impede their efforts.” 

The X-Files is one of the longest-running science fiction series, first airing on September 10, 1993, and the final episode airing on March 21, 2018. It has 11 seasons and 217 episodes in total. The show has an 8.6/10 rating on IMDb.

7. Dexter (Spinoff: Decter: New Blood)

“He’s smart. He’s lovable. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer, who spends his days solving crimes and nights committing them.”

Dexter has eight seasons and 96 episodes in all. It first aired on October 1, 2006, and the final episode was on September 22, 2012. This show has an 8.7/10 rating.

Dexter: New Blood is set 10 years after the final episode of Dexter and followers Dexter Morgan in Upstate New York, Iron Lake, far from Miami. So far, there is one season and ten episodes. This show has an 8.1/10 rating.

8. Games of Thrones and House of the Dragon

Game of Thrones: “Nine noble families fight for control over the lands of Westeros, while an ancient enemy returns after being dormant for millennia.” 

Game of Thrones first aired on April 17, 2011; the final episode was on May 19, 2019. By the end of the series, it had accumulated eight seasons and 73 episodes. Although there aren’t as many episodes as some of the other series listed in this article, they are pretty lengthy. The show received a 9.2/10 rating.

House of the Dragon: “An internal succession war within House Targaryen at the height of its power, 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.” ‘

House of the Dragon is new and has 11 episodes, and it just recently broadcasted the season finale. It is set before Game of Thrones. It currently has an 8.6/10 rating.

9. Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra (And future Netflix reboot)

Avatar: The Last Airbender: “In a war-torn world of elemental magic, a young boy reawakens to undertake a dangerous mystic quest to fulfill his destiny as the Avatar and bring peace to the world.” 

There are three seasons and 62 episodes of this show. It first aired on February 21, 2005, and the final episode was on July 19, 2008. It has a 9.3/10 rating on IMDb.

The Legend of Korra: “Avatar Korra fights to keep Republic City safe from evil forces of both the physical and spiritual worlds.” 

This show has four seasons and 52 episodes that take 70 years after Avatar. The first episode was released on April 14, 2012, and the final episode was on December 19, 2014. It has an 8.4/10 rating on IMDb.

Netflix is currently working on creating a live-action series of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and in the meantime, you will find both of these shows there.
