A General Guide To K-Beauty Must-Haves You Need RN

You’ve probably heard of K-beauty, or Korean beauty, which has been trending across the internet for the past few years! Whether in regards to skincare, makeup or fashion, Korean style and products have been receiving a lot of attention and praise. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the choices, then here is a guide to K-beauty must-haves that includes some specific tried and tested options:

Sheet Masks

Sheet masks are a “treat yo’ self” essential! There is an extensive array of sheet masks available in places like Sephora or Ulta that contain different ingredients aimed at targeting varying concerns, such as blemishes or dryness. Incorporating sheet masks even once a week to your skincare routine for just around 15 to 20 minutes is sure to bring on more hydration and brighter looking skin.

Sleeping Masks

This wouldn’t be a K-beauty list without paying special attention to skincare. Sleeping masks aren’t just eye-masks you see on airplanes – in K-beauty must-haves they are fun, pampering essentials. Just like sheet masks and the more common mud masks, Korean brands offer an extensive array of sleeping masks. Sleeping masks in particular are great for a boost of hydration overnight, hence the name.

Lip Tints

Another type of product that can be widely attributed to K-beauty is the lip tint! Korean lip tints usually come in adorable packaging and the ones below, like the Peripera Ink Airy Velvet, also have long-lasting wear. The Too Cool For School has an oil-based tint that will leave a natural rosy stain on your lips all day. They also still somehow manage to be lightweight and non-drying at all. These lip tints come in a wide range of colors and can be easily layered to adjust how pigmented they appear.

Mist Cushion

Moving on to base makeup, mist cushions are the staple item for lightweight and even coverage on your face. They can also quickly be thrown into your bag when you’re on-the-go. Not only are they super portable but they are also easy to apply with the puff part of the cushion. Like the rest of this list, mist cushions are not only sold in cute packaging but they are actually practical and contain a high quality product! Another plus is that they usually include SPF for some extra sun protection.

Sunscreens

Speaking of SPF, Korean sunscreens are key to K-beauty must-haves routines for a day out. Whether in the summertime or during cold winter days, you should be applying sunscreen on your face to avoid sun damage. While sunscreen might not be the first thing that pops into your mind when contemplating what K-beauty products to check out, they are essential for skin health and Korean brands have taken it upon themselves to perfect a variety of formulas. These advanced sunscreens allow for a lightweight smooth coverage that won’t cause a break out so you’ll never feel tempted to skip this step.

Blushes

While blushes come in a variety of forms across countries and there are many different trends, Korean brands often put a unique twist on blushes. For instance, the Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Cushy Blusher has an innovative applicator and, of course, super adorable packaging. Going back to the mist cushion craze, blushes also can be found in a similar cushion pact design for simple and quick application. All these blushes also blend in smoothly for an effortless look.

Thin Wand Mascaras

If you’ve ever had any difficulty with typical mascara wands, then check out these Korean mascaras. Unlike many Western counterparts, these mascaras have an ultra-thin wand for slick and detailed application. Whether you use them for layering on lashes for that extra volume or you want lighter and more controlled product usage, these Korean mascaras are long-lasting and practical.
