How To Look Stunning According To Your Seasonal Color Analysis

We all have our favorite season, but did you know that you match one of them?

Your seasonal color analysis is often used to help you figure out what colors you look great in and which colors you should avoid! Many times we will put on an outfit or want to wear a particular color, but it will wash us out or not be flattering. I personally have that issue with yellows. It’s frustrating to see a specific color and want to wear it, but you can’t figure out why it doesn’t work on you! That’s where your seasonal color analysis comes in!

Your seasonal color analysis will help you determine what shades just won’t work for you based on your hair color, eye color and texture, and your skin tone. Based on these three factors, you are either placed in winter, spring, summer, or autumn. From there, each season is broken down into 3 subcategories that are unique to you! It’s time to get rid of the colors that dull your sparkle and start getting to know the shades that will make you shine! Not only can you use this information for clothing, but you can also apply it to your home and makeup routine! Find out what your season is below!

Winter

1. Cool Winter

Hair

The first way to determine if you are a cool winter is to look at your natural hair color! If you are a cool winter, your natural hair color most likely has an ashy tone to your light blonde, light brown, dark brown, or black hair. If you are a cool winter, there will be no red tones found in your hair, but there may be a blue tone found if you have black hair!

If you have red tones to your dark brown or black hair, you might be a clear winter!

Eyes

The next way to determine if you are a cool winter is both your eye color and pattern within the iris. If you are a cool winter, you will have bright blue eyes, grey eyes, blue-green eyes, or light brown eyes. If you’re in-between colors, look at the pattern of your iris!

If your iris has a darker outer rim and has spokes or petals of colors radiating from the iris, you are most likely in the cool and brilliant category which applies to cool winter, deep winter, and clear winter. So if your eye pattern matches this description but your coloring is off, look at the other applicable seasons!

Skin Tone

Last but not least, your skin tone can help you determine your season! If you have a very pale or pale beige skin, pale olive, or rosy beige skin tone, you might be a cool winter! You will also most likely have olive or cool blue undertones. If you aren’t sure, take a look at the foundation you use! You can even Google the shade and look at the undertones.

Best Colors

If you are a cool winter, you look phenomenal in bright and bold shades and also icier shades. Some colors that would really look great according to your seasonal color analysis include true colors such as true red or true blue. By “true” colors, this means there is no warm or cool undertone to the shade, it is a real red or a read blue. You can do this with any color so long as they don’t lean warm nor cool!

Icy shades would also look fabulous on you! However, remember that there is a distinction between icy and pastel, and you want to avoid pastel colors as those might wash you out! To help you make the distinction, icy colors are much lighter and closer to white than pastels are and typically not as bright.

To give you more specific colors, here are the Pantone color codes you would look phenomenal in: PMS 204, 252, 206, 545, 553, 2425, and 2728.

Colors that a cool winter should typically avoid are warm-toned colors and soft-toned colors. These types of shades tend to wash you out and can give your skin a dull tone instead of enhancing it.

2. Clear Winter

Hair

If you are a clear winter, you will have a naturally dark hair color such as brown or black with red undertones. You might even have some blue or ashy tones, which are similar to cool winter, so compare your eyes and skin tone as well!

Eyes

To detemine if you are a clear winter and not a deep or cool winter, look at your eye color! If you have bright blue or green eyes, you might be a clear winter!

If you are a clear winter, you will also fall under the category of cool and brilliant. If your iris has a darker outer rim and has spokes or petals of colors radiating from the iris, you are most likely in the cool and brilliant category which applies to cool winter, deep winter, and clear winter. So if your eye pattern matches this description but your coloring is off, look at the other applicable seasons!

Skin Tone

Finally, take a look at your skin tone. If you have a milky white, neutral beige, soft olive, or brown-black skin with olive or cool blue undertones, you may be a clear winter! If you aren’t sure, take a look at the foundation you use! You can even Google the shade and look at the undertones.

Best Colors

The best colors to really make a clear winter shine include vivid and intense colors that lean slightly cool or icy. If you are a clear winter, opt for stand-out shades instead of dulled down and lighter shades!

To give you more specific colors, here are the Pantone color codes you would look phenomenal in: PMS 2935, 306, 297, 347, 526, 203, and 2945 along with Reflex Blue and Process Yellow.

If you are a deep winter, you will have a naturally dark hair color such as medium to deep brown or black, so if you’re a natural blonde, you are definitely not a deep winter!

Eyes

Deep winters will also have dark eyes that can range from dark hazel to black, but they are always very dark! As a rule of thumb, to be a deep winter, you need to have naturally dark hair and eyes!

As a deep winter, you also fall under the category of cool and brilliant. Although it may be more challenging to see the iris due to your deep colored eyes, take a look, and see if you notice the pattern! If your iris has a darker outer rim and has spokes or petals of colors radiating from the iris, you are most likely in the cool and brilliant category which applies to cool winter, deep winter, and clear winter. So if your eye pattern matches this description but your coloring is off, look at the other applicable seasons!

Skin Tone

Deep winters often have a wide range of skin tones, but they usually range from olive to black and are never white. Deep winters will also have olive or cool blue undertones. If you aren’t sure, take a look at the foundation you use! You can even Google the shade and look at the undertones.

Spring

1. Light Spring

Hair

For the light springs out there, hair is often the best place to start! If you are a light spring, you will have natural light to medium golden blonde hair or light to medium golden brown hair. Strawberry blondes also often fall into the light spring category!

Eyes

The next place to look is at both your eye color and the pattern of your iris. Light springs will usually have bright, light-colored eyes such as blue, hazel, light brown, or green.

Next, take a look at your eye pattern. This will be easier for you as you have lighter eyes making the design more evident and visible. If you are a light spring, you will fall under the warm and fresh category which also includes clear spring and warm spring. If you are a spring in general, you will notice that your pupil may be surrounded by a sunburst pattern which is commonly gold or amber.

Skin Tone

Lastly, take a look at your skin tone! If you are a light spring, you will have fair skin with pink or peachy undertones. If you aren’t sure about your undertones, take a look at the foundation you use! You can even Google the shade and look at the undertones.

Best Colors

To look stunning as a light spring, think spring colors! Light springs look fantastic in lighter colors that lean more warm than cool.

3. Warm Spring

Hair

It’s easy to figure out if you are a warm spring because warm springs will often have a shade of red to their hair! If you have strawberry blonde, coppery red, auburn, light golden brown, or dark golden brown hair, there’s a good chance you are a warm spring!

Eyes

Similarly to light springs, warm springs often have blue, green, hazel, or light brown eyes. Summer

1. Light Summer

Hair

If you are a light summer, you will definitely have naturally very light hair. Light summers usually have light to medium ash blonde hair or may even have strawberry blonde hair. The very darkest a light summer’s natural hair will be is a light ash brown.

Eyes

If you are a light summer, you will either have blue or green eyes but will not have hazel or brown eyes. As a light summer, you fall under the category of cool and delicate, which means that the texture of your iris may resemble crackled glass. You may also notice that there is a soft-focus effect where the outer rim of the iris meets the whites of your eyes.

Skin Tone

Lastly, take a look at your skin tone! If you are a light summer, you will most likely have a fair skin tone with a neutral undertone that does not lean yellow or pink. If anything, your skin may have a slight pink tinge but does not have pink undertones like a spring might. If you aren’t sure about your undertones, take a look at the foundation you use! You can even Google the shade and look at the undertones.

Best Colors

If you are a light summer, you will look gorgeous in soft romantic hues that aren’t quite a pastel but are more muted.

2. Soft Summer

Hair

If you are a soft summer, you are almost the opposite of a light summer when it comes to hair color! If you are a soft summer, you will have medium to deep ash brown hair with possible ash blonde highlights. It is possible, however, that you can be a soft summer if you have dark ash blonde hair, so compare your characteristics!

Eyes

If you are a soft summer, you will most likely have grey, blue, or hazel eyes. Note that there is no green in these characteristics so if you are unsure if your eyes are hazel or green, check with the other attributes of a soft summer! Similarly to a light summer, you fall under the category of cool and delicate, which means that the texture of your iris may resemble crackled glass. You may also notice that there is a soft-focus effect where the outer rim of the iris meets the whites of your eyes.

Skin Tone

As a soft summer, you tend to have a neutral undertone. Soft summers have a wide range of skin tones, but most will have a beige skin tone. If you have a light beige tone, your undertone may look neutral while a deeper skin tone may look ashier. If you aren’t sure about your undertones, take a look at the foundation you use! Hair

If you are soft autumn, you will more than likely have golden blonde to medium brown hair or light red hair with a golden shine or tint to it.

Eyes

Soft autumns will usually have green, hazel, or light brown eyes but not blue eyes. If anything, a soft autumn will have blue-green eyes that lean more green than blue. If you are an autumn of any kind, you fall under the category of warm and rich. Therefore, you may notice that you have soft, swirling borders around your eye’s pupil while flecks of color go out towards the edge of the iris.

Skin Tone

Finally, a soft autumn’s undertone will almost always be warm. As far as skin tone goes, if you have ivory, olive, or medium brown skin with warm undertones, you may be a soft autumn! If you aren’t sure about your undertones, take a look at the foundation you use! You can even Google the shade and look at the undertones.

To figure out if you’re a warm autumn all you really have to do is look at your natural hair color! A warm autumn will usually have a hair color that ranges from medium to dark golden brown or can be red or auburn. If you are a warm autumn, you might also notice that you have natural honey or ginger highlights.

Warm autumns will always have green, hazel, or light brown eyes. As a rule of thumb, remember that blue is a cool color, and warm autumns are anything but cool toned! Your skin may vary in tone and can be anything from ivory to brown, but you will notice that the skin has an overall warmth to it naturally. Eyes

As a deep autumn, you will most likely have deep colored eyes such as dark blue, deep green, hazel, dark brown, or brown-black. If you are an autumn of any kind, you fall under the category of warm and rich. Although it may be difficult to notice due to your dark coloring, you have soft, swirling borders around your eye’s pupil while flecks of color go out towards the edge of the iris.

Skin Tone

To really solidify your season, take a look at your skin tone and its undertones. Deep autumns have a wide range of skin tones from ivory to deep brown, but there are definitely warm undertones! How to Use Your Seasonal Color Analysis

1. Stick to your best colors and avoid your worst

2. Do not color your hair out of your season. If you are an autumn, don’t dye your hair a hair color from spring!

3. Use your best colors and apply them to your makeup routine! Look good in peach? Use a peach blush instead of pink! Does a warm-toned red wash you out according to your best and worst colors? Opt for a blue-red lipstick instead!
