How To Get The Perfect Summer Body With No Workout Needed

A summer body is often seen as a physical goal you need to be able to attain to look and feel your best during the more revealing warm weather season. With different diets, exercise plans and Insta models out there, it can seem nearly impossible to get the body of your dreams, so to help steer you in the right direction, here is a list on how to get the perfect summer body with no workout needed.

1. Transition Your Current Body

The first way to get that summer body is to simply look down at your winter figure, look out your window, make sure it’s really summer outside and voila! A summer body ready for you to utilize. Embellish it with shorts, skirts, dresses or even crop tops. Sunbath in a bikini or a one piece or keep that precious outer layer protected with SPF and long sleeves, shave your armpits and legs or don’t shave at all.

Anything that makes you feel good and comfortable is fair game. There is no right way to have a summer body, even though we are constantly being hounded with images, commercials and celebrities that make us feel lesser-than or inadequate. Nothing and no one should EVER keep you from having fun or feeling like you aren’t beautiful, sexy or good enough, life is just way too short for that bullshit.

2. Unplug

Summer body inspiration can be found anywhere from YouTube to Instagram and can easily spiral into a session of self-hate, self-doubt and feelings of desperation. While some do truly get motivated by these videos or images the truth is, many don’t. They end up hating on themselves and accepting society’s warped beauty standards, which doesn’t solve anything and just adds to the problem.

So a good way to get a clear head and appreciate the healthy, functional body you already have, is to limit or take a break from social media. Try reading a book or spending time with friends who have agreed to disconnect in your presence. Trust me when I say this small step will turn into a huge personal gain.

3. Surround Yourself With Love

Another great trick for getting that summer body without working out or dieting is surrounding yourself with people who love and respect you. It shouldn’t make a difference to them whether you have the perfect summer, winter, spring or fall body, they would love it either way. They don’t care how thick your thighs are or if you feel like you don’t have the shoulders for halter tops, to them you are beautiful and worthy of respect and admiration.

Also, there is a difference between being honest about an outfit or the way you did your makeup versus flat out shaming the way you look or how you are made. The same goes for yourself, which I know sounds corny and easier said than done, but how are you going to attract kindness and love if you can’t even show it to yourself.

4. Diet And Exercise

Although self-esteem and confidence is important, there is also nothing wrong with wanting to change  bad habits you may think you have or getting fit and healthy to be able to enjoy life. The problem lies in poorly formulated crash diets, exercising like a maniac, hoping you will look like your favourite Insta model or celebrity and being disappointed in yourself when things don’t compare.

This vicious cycle needs to end and we shouldn’t poison our minds with specific ideas of what a healthy good-looking body should be. If you are satisfied with what you already have, don’t let anything or anyone accuse you of being crazy or delusional because you are worthy and beautiful.
