How To Ease Into Wearing Red Lipstick

Red Lipstick is bold! It makes a statement and draws all eyes onto you! if you want to start showing off your best accessory, your smile, then try out these few tricks to gain your confidence to start wearing red lipstick! 

Start Slow

Ease yourself into the idea of red. You don;t have to burst out of the gate with full on fire engine red if its a little too daunting for you! Start with a pink, or whatever the next colour step towards red is, if you are strictly a nude lipstick wearer, you will have to pace yourself. Pink or even a brown based red is a good place to start as it is close to nude if you choose to go for a brown/red. If you gain your confidence with pinks are work your way up you will be wearing red in no time! and remember if you choose a liquid lipstick, you will feel more comfortable as you won;t have to worry about smudging or getting red lipstick everywhere! Which is a personal fear of mine, so matter or liquid is a always a good option. This is a great way to start to ease into red lipstick! 

Pick Your Tone

Experiment and find out which tone of red goes best with your current style! This could be a bright orange based red, an intense blue based red, a brick or something in between. Picking a tone that suits your style, your fashion and your comfortability level  is important. This will ensure that the red blends in well with your look and compliments it, rather than sticking out in a bad way. Tones are important but remember that just because you settle on a dark tone for the colder seasons doesn’t mean you can branch out during summer and go for a bright orange/red. Don’t get stuck in your ways, many of us have a go to nude lipstick, red is where you can collect them all and grow a collection. 

Love Your Smile

Wearing red is a great way to draw attention to everyone’s best accessory, your smile! If you aren’t feeling like wearing a lot of eye makeup or much makeup at all, red lipstick is to the rescue. Red lipstick will ensure that everyone is looking at your smile. If you want to enhance those pearly whites of yours, wear a red lipstick that has a blue undertone. This will bring out the white in your teeth, making sure that your teeth and shining and looking their very best. Just make sure you don’t have lipstick on your teeth before you leave the house. You smile is your best accessory so why not enhance it a little, and make sure everyone is noticing it.

Be Confident

Don’t overthink it! Just go for it and wear whatever red you choose. If you are self conscious about wearing red it will show! Just be confident and work it! If you convince yourself that you are comfortable wearing red you will look it! And after you receive all of the compliments you will be wearing red everyday! Confidence is the key to wearing anything at all, no matter how daring it may seem for you. No one will even think twice about you wearing red lipstick if you are confident about it. This rule applies for anything! fashion, beauty and everything else. Confidence is key to everything.
