5 Hilarious Dorm Room Horror Stories
Dorm life absolutely has its ups and downs. Roommates can be weird, dorms can be crappy, strange things just seem to happen. It’s inevitable! Anyone that’s lived in dorms can tell you that there is literally no escaping. Everyone has to experience a dorm room horror story at least (and hopefully only) once in their life. These ones will definitely have you hoping you experience anything else but these!
1. “My First Roommate and Her Boyfriend…” -J. Sprunger
When we first started to read this story, all we could think was one woman, plus another woman, plus that other woman’s boyfriend in a dorm room is bound to be interesting. Couples in college can make things hella awkward. More often than not they just do not care who is around when they start doing their thing. This one takes the cake though. “My first roommate and her boyfriend meowed as foreplay. Meowed. Like cats. To turn each other on. Then they would just go for it like I wasn’t even there!” Girl, we are so sorry you went through that. Cat noises before sex? That’s a first for us, and hopefully the last!
2. “The Puppeteer” -K. Edwards
“My roommate in the dorms wore a puppet on her shoulder and if you asked her a question she would answer with the puppet. It was a puppet of a griffin, which is a mythological creature that’s a combination of lion and eagle. It sucked. We also had all the same classes together and I woke up late more than once to that damn puppet in my face telling me the time.”

3. “The Nudist” -S. Ryan
It’s one thing to be comfortable with your roommate. They tend to put guys with guys and girls with girls in a dorm room unless otherwise requested, and even then I don’t think all schools are okay with that. Anyways, the point is as girls we do everything together. Change together, eat together, sometimes even sleep in the same bed for the sake of having company. However, complete strangers should have some boundaries. Also a common thread we find in a dorm room from time to time- roommates don’t get along. Totally normal! What isn’t normal is when you find out the weird stuff your weird roommate does to freak you out. “One day, I noticed my extra-crazy roommate had something hanging from her backpack. When I looked closer, it was a hand-sized voodoo doll — of myself.” New dorm room assignment, please!
5. “The Scary Sleepwalker” -J. Wenik
Here you go guys, just when you thought a dorm room horror story was only for the ladies. Well, you’re wrong! Guys can have just as many problems as girls can have! Here’s the proof:
“My roommate last year sleepwalked every once in a while. In maybe the second or third last week of the school year, while sleepwalking, he came over to where my bed was, peed all over the floor, and then tried to climb into my bed when I was in it.”
