So why opt for something that harms your body when you can satisfy your sweet tooth cravings in a healthier way with fruit recipes?! Here are some healthy fruit recipes that you can eat and enjoy the next time you’re craving something sugary!
1. Chocolate Avocado Pudding
We’re going to start this post off strong. Go big or go home am I right? This chocolate avocado pudding fruit recipe is so delicious you won’t even know it’s healthy! Grab your blender and blend together 4 ripe avocados, 1/4 cup of light coconut milk, 4 tbsp of unsweetened dark cacao powder, 3 tbsp of honey, 2 oz of melted chocolate (preferably dark), 2 tsp of vanilla extract, and 1/8 tsp of salt! Transfer into small pudding cups, refrigerate overnight, and enjoy the next day!
2. Blueberry Creamsicles
If you love ice cream and can’t go a day without a fix, try substituting it with these delicious and healthy blueberry creamsicles! For this healthy fruit recipe, all you need to do is blend together 1 and 1/2 cups of plain fat-free Greek yogurt with 3 tbsp of honey, and 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract. Next, you’re going to heat up a medium saucepan and cook 2 cups of blueberries with 1/4 cup of honey. Put both mixtures into squeeze tubes, and alternate back and forth with the mixtures in popsicle molds. Freeze overnight, and enjoy!
3. Grilled Brown Sugar Butter Pineapple
Juicy with a side of crisp and crunch is definitely the way to go when it comes to fruit recipes! If you’ve ever had a Brazilian barbecue, you know how delicious the huge cinnamon sugar pineapple on a skewer is. Well, now you can enjoy all of that deliciousness in your very own home! For this fruit recipe, in a bowl, melt 3/4 stick of butter in the microwave, and then add 3/4 cup of brown sugar to it, mixing it fast, and letting the sugar soak up the butter. Cut some pineapple slices and grill them until they have the beautiful grill marks, and then quickly brush each side with your brown sugar mixture. You can sprinkle some cinnamon if you would like some more extra spice!
4. Mango Brûlée
If you love mangos and you love creme brûlée you’ll absolutely love this healthy fruit recipe. Also, when else are you going to use that blowtorch of yours?! A dessert that’s easy and fun? Count me in! Turn on your broiler and position your rack 6 inches below the heat and line a baking sheet with foil. Cut two fresh mangoes in half, as evenly as possible.
In a bowl, combine 1/4 cup of turbinado sugar, 1/8 tsp of ground ginger, 1/4 tsp of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of ground nutmeg. Line the mangoes on your baking sheet, and put the mixture on top. Broil for 3 minutes, or you can use your blowtorch to caramelize the sugar on top! This is a healthy fruit recipe, yet it tastes like an actual dessert.
5. Rum Broiled Grapefruit
This healthy fruit recipe is super unique and brings together so many different fragrant flavors. This dessert will definitely throw a party in your mouth! Heat up your oven and then cut 2 grapefruits in half. Brush 1 tbsp. of rum over each slice and sprinkle them each with 1 and 1/ 2 tbsp of sugar. Dust some cinnamon and cayenne pepper onto each slice, and a cherry in the middle of each grapefruit. Broil for 5-6 minutes until the sugar is golden brown and enjoy!
