17 Glasses You Will Want To Wear

Wearing the same glasses every day can become a bit redundant. Before you go through the list, let me just write a little disclaimer – this list is definitely not a guide in terms of glasses you should be wearing. The best way to pick the perfect glasses for you is to go to a store and try them yourself. If you have to wear glasses every day, you have to love them. If you like doing a little extra research or are just curious about the some different trends – keep reading! There’s plenty here to explore.

This was a hard topic to put together, there’s so many websites for glasses! So many styles to chose from, so many articles about trends to read through! And I’ve done all the hard work so you don’t have to. Here are some of the glasses trends you may or may not have noticed.

1. Transparent Frames

These glasses have gained some popularity for the last few years and it probably has to do with practicality. They are easy to wear, they work with almost any complexion and look great on most faces!

2. Thin Metal Frames

Thin metal frames make for some very simple, yet stylish glasses. They are uncomplicated, can suit many faces and somehow manage to be both modern and timeless.

3. Browline Frames

Speaking of timeless glasses. Browline glasses were very popular in the 1950s and 1960s, especially in the US. The name derives from the fact that the “bold” upper part of the frames frame the lenses in the same way that eyebrows frame the eyes. If you get a pair of browline frames, you are almost certainly going to be really happy with the way they look as they flawlessly combine the best parts of modern and retro design

4. Large Thin Golden Frames

Another retro look which is definitely making a comeback – thin golden frames. They are particularly popular in a round shape, recalling the popular Jazz Age styles. However, there’s also a modern spin on the classic with the hexagon shape, or the rectangular shape.

5. Millennial Pink Frames

Millennial pink is everywhere, so it’s no surprise that it’s really popular with glasses too. They are trendy, they are cute and they probably match the decor of your favourite coffee shop.

6. Tortoiseshell Frames

Tortoiseshell frames are the perfect way to add some colour to your glasses, without being too bold. And don’t think you need to get the brown versions, tortoiseshell frames have come a long way and you can find them in a range of colours and patterns.

7. Bold Extra Large Frames

Large glasses are really popular, so if you want to stay on top of the trends, you should probably try a few of those on. They are a style, which is hard to please, though, so don’t be surprised if you end up putting them down. Extra Large frames won’t suite everybody.

8. Retro Metal Frames

Again with the metal frames? Yes, but here it’s all about the design. If you want to go for an old school look, you should try a pair of double-bridge navigators.

9. Round Glasses

Round glasses come in all shapes and sizes. Okay, that’s a lie, they are always round. But they can be made from different materials and sport different colours, so there’s a lot of variety in that section. Whether you go for thicker plastic ones or thing metal ones, the round glasses are definitely staying in style for a long time. They just look very good!

10. Semi-Rimless Glasses

Semi-rimless glasses are a great way to combine the minimalist look of rimless glasses, with some more design and personality. They are lightweight and timeless and will probably be in fashion forever.

11. Tiny Glasses

Basically, the trend for glasses seems to be: “Go big or go tiny, as long as you don’t go home”. Tiny glasses are really trendy and if you like fashion you probably own a pair. Or a few pairs, they come in many shapes. You’ll probably feel really cool wearing these.

12. Bold Black Frames

Speaking of “go big”, the bold black frames are really popular. They are often categorised as “geeky”, because they are bulky glasses. The bigger the glasses the bigger the brains, I guess.

13. Wooden Glasses

Wooden glasses have been quite popular, because of their natural, yet unique look. They usually come in all the more popular shapes. If you are looking for something to set you apart or are just sick of plastic glasses, then maybe this is something worth considering.

14. Cat-Eye Glasses

A classic look, which will be the perfect suit for some faces. They are kind of like a mask, you put it on and it just fits, they are either your glasses or not. And when they are your glasses, they look great!

15. Flat Top Glasses

You can find many versions of the flat top glasses, because they are really universal. They can be really big and square, or metal and minimalist. They are ideal for round, oval and oblong shaped faces.

16. Red Glasses

Red is a really popular colour when it comes to glasses. They are a really bold colour, but that kind of makes them go with everything. They are usually people’s second pair, but if they reflect your personality better than any other glasses – go for it! They look really good.

17. Grey Glasses

Take a look at Oprah sporting these cool grey glasses. Grey is definitely an interesting colour when it comes to glasses, as you don’t see it very often. It’s a really modern look, which suits people looking for something beyond the popular colours.
