How To Get The Absolute Best Prices On Textbooks

Textbooks are ridiculously expensive nowadays, and the difference between buying your books at the bookstore and finding the cheapest textbooks online could mean hundreds of dollars! With the eFollett search engine, you don’t have to waste your time searching for the same books on multiple websites or hunting for textbook coupons… eFollett will do all the work for you. All you need to do is enter your school, your class code and your session and eFollett will automatically find the best prices on textbooks you need for that class. That means more money in your pocket for parties next semester.

When searching for textbooks, you have a couple of different options: you can buy your textbooks new or used, or you can rent your textbooks. Each option has advantages and disadvantages.

If you’re broke AF, buy used textbooks.

If you are looking for the cheapest textbook prices and you don’t care much about the condition of your books, then purchase used textbooks. Depending on the condition of the textbook, some sections might be highlighted, some pages could be missing, and you are not likely to find the most recent edition of the textbook in he used section. However, you can usually get the best textbook deals by renting a used textbook from an older edition. Just make sure your professor is okay with that because sometimes trying to match reading assignments to a different edition of the same book is not worth the headache.

If you’re looking for the best textbook deal, rent your books.

Renting textbooks will usually give you the best value – you are guaranteed to receive a book in excellent or gently used condition, and you can choose the exact edition required by your professor for a fraction of the price of a new book. At the end of the semester, no need to lug those books back home to collect dust on your old bookshelf, just ship them back.  The disadvantage of renting textbooks is that you can’t highlight or scribble anything on them, or else they might not take them back. They also will give you a date to send your books back by. So make sure you set a couple reminders and actually get it done or else you might blow it and miss the deadline.
