5 Fun Things To Do Around Your Town If You’re Bored This Fall

It is definitely true that there are not as many activities to do in the fall as there are in the summer. Most of this is due to that the weather is much colder and our lives become much busier. But this doesn’t mean that there is absolutely nothing to do these next few months. Here are 5 fun things to do around your town if you’re bored this fall!

1. Go to a Harvest Festival

Most towns throw an annual Fall Festival or an event along those lines. It typically features amazing food, live music, and fun fall activities for all ages. It gets you into that fall spirit and allows you to do something with your friends if you are sick of just hanging at someone’s house, going shopping, or going to see a movie. It could also be a really cute first date idea with that special someone. So go eat some fried dough, drink some cider and take a hayride!

2. Get Spooked in a Haunted House

Halloween is approaching sooner than you think, and you’re definitely going to want to check out a haunted house in your area this summer. Depending on where you live you may have to travel to a nearby area because not every town is fortunate enough to have a haunted house on their grounds.  There is nothing like being surrounded by fake fog and cobwebs, getting spooked by walking zombies, night creatures, and other supernatural beings. Even if you’re not the type that likes a scare, if you’re with a good group of friends, who don’t judge you no matter your scream filled reaction, I’m sure you’ll have a good time.

3. Check Out a Local Farm

During the fall season, your local farm is bound to have plenty of fun fall events. Usually, there is always a pumpkin patch, where you can pick the best soon-to-be jack-o’-lanterns. If you’re lucky, your farm may also provide opportunities to apple-pick, something that we New Englanders are spoiled with. But if not, I’m sure that all the cute farm animals that will occupy your attention. Looking at all the beauty that comes from nature will make you appreciate the little things. So go ahead and feed those goats and hold those chicks!

4. Watch Your Hometown Team

You may have graduated four years prior, only months into college, or still in high school but regardless of your situation, it’s still always a good time to watch your local football team play. All the action from the game and the tasty food from the concession stand will have you feeling in that fall spirit. And even if you’re not into football, it’s still nice to see familiar faces from the town, all with the same common goal of wanting to see the boys beat the visiting team. Just make sure you bundle up because those night games can be freezing!

5. Take a Drive Through the Countryside

Depending on where you live, you may already do this on a daily basis, but you should just take some real time to stop and appreciate the beauty of the fall foliage. In the spring/summer we become so captivated by everything in bloom, we often forget the allure that the leaves can have just before they fall. If you’re in a more urban area, being out by the countryside allows you time to unwind and relax from the hustle and bustle of downtown. So plug in some good tunes and grab some friends and just keep driving.
