Tate Lectures are a fun and unique way to spend free time here. Southern Methodist University always brings in notable and diverse speakers, from Tom Brokaw to Rob Lowe.

3. Intramurals or Club Sports

If you’re someone who likes to be active and be on a team, join a sport! While you may not want the commitment of being on our school’s team, joining an intramural or club team takes most of that pressure off. You don’t even have to have any experience! Don’t be afraid to try something new or revive something old.

4. Meadows Museum

7. Fountain Hopping

You might have heard that jumping in every fountain on campus is on everyone’s bucket list. This is especially fun after we win a game or to celebrate good news. Cross it off your list now and hop in every fountain on campus!

8. Sports Games

SMU students are able to get into almost every sports game for free and even get rewarded for going. Get your friends together and cheer for your Mustangs!

9. Curtis Park Tunnels

Most Dallas natives don’t even know about this one. In Curtis Park there are two underground tunnels that lead to University Park that are right underneath a bridge. The climb down is a little precarious, but the photo ops and the stories you can tell about walking through underground tunnels are well worth it.

10. University-Sponsored Events

Our school puts on tons of diverse events for us, so take advantage of them! Religious, musical, and educational events are all put on specifically for students, so grab your friends and get going.
