Eat These Foods To Reduce Bloating Quickly (After A Weekend Of Splurging)

It happens to all of us. We spend a weekend discarding all our dietary rules and decide to live for a bit. We all sneakily tell ourselves that calories don’t count during the weekends and it won’t catch up with us on Monday. A glass of beer here and there has left us a bit bloated and feeling less than stellar. Luckily, there are some ways that you can detoxify and bring your body back to the way it felt before. Here are some foods that reduce bloating quickly to sneak into your next meals after that long weekend.

Fruits

For your next breakfast, give some of these detox fruits a try and feel like a million bucks.

1. Blueberries

Filled with antioxidants, blueberries should be the cornerstone of every breakfast or snack in the day. Toss some blueberries in your morning cereal or in a bowl with some almonds and your body will thank you.

2. Watermelon

Many diets call for fruits like watermelon, as it is almost 90% water. Slipping watermelon into your fruit salad or as a palette cleanser at the end of dinner will help you feel hydrated and happy.

3. Grapefruit

This fruit is considered the most powerful and the cornerstone of every efficient diet. Having grapefruit juice or half a grapefruit at breakfast with a cup lemon water will make you feel like a goddess.

4. Plums

Plums or dried prunes are reliable in that they are loaded in fiber and are the perfect detox fruit to snack on in the middle of the day when you are feeling rough and sluggish.

Vegetables

Throw some of these powerful veggie foods that reduce bloating quickly into your next salad or make the perfect side dish for your super healthy dinner.

1. Broccoli

With nutrients like fiber and protein, the detoxifying factor isn’t the only reason this food should be in your diet. For a dinner time detox, have a side bowl of steamed broccoli to enjoy and you will feel full and much better.

2. Chickpeas

Chickpeas are great for a little detox not only because of their fiber and zinc content, but also because of the numerous ways you can eat them. Roast them or eat them as is, put them on your salad, or puree them into a hummus or a spread for a veggie wrap.

3. Spinach

Loaded with vitamin C, it is no secret that spinach is good for you (cue the Popeye reel). Throwing spinach into your summer salad or sneaking a bit into your morning smoothie will help detoxify and to get some of those extra nutrients you need. Win, win.

4. Kale

Kale is a powerhouse when it comes to healthy foods. This super food has fiber, protein, vitamin A and vitamin C. Some are a bit nervous to try incorporating kale into their diets, but there are plenty of scrumptious recipes and tips to prepare it. Give it a try.

1. Hot Lemon Water

Having a hot cup of water with lemon first thing in the morning is said to be one of the healthiest ways to start your day. It will give you a burst of energy and improve your digestion for the rest of your meals that day.

2. Green Tea

Having a cup of green tea before bed is a certified de-bloater. It should be incorporated into almost everyone’s night time routine, as it will relax the mind and work throughout the night.
