10 Five Ingredients Or Less Crockpot Recipes

Being stuck inside while quarantined has us all digging into the backs of our cabinets for more ingredients to make new recipes. We once coveted the all-mighty home-cooked meal. Now we’re sick of being home.

If you’re still looking for new recipes but are ready to give up cooking, here are some great crockpot recipes to try for the next week and a half. It’ll give you the delicious home-cooked meal, without all the work.

Also, if you’re anything like me…the stove isn’t exactly your best friend, so crockpot recipes are my favorite. I’m constantly looking for new crockpot recipes.

Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 bottle or can of root beer (full sugar not diet) – you can use Coke or Dr. Pepper if you prefer
  • 18 oz. bottle of BBQ sauce, whatever kind you prefer
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp Pepper

Directions

Step 1 – Place chicken breasts and root beer in a slow cooker and cook for about 3 hours on high. Shred and drain most of the liquid.

Step 2 – Leave a little so the chicken doesn’t get dry. Add salt & pepper.

Step 3 – Pour in a bottle of BBQ sauce and let cook another 15-20 minutes in a slow cooker.

Step 4 – Serve on rolls. I sometimes add avocado or even saute onion to serve on the sandwich.

Easy Sweet and Sour Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen bag (22 oz.) Tyson Grilled & Ready Oven Roasted Diced Chicken Breast
  • 1 jar (12 oz.) chili sauce
  • 1 jar (18 oz.) Apricot Pineapple Preserves (or just Apricot preserves)
  • 2 cups cooked rice or steamed vegetables, or both

Directions

Step 1 – Place the frozen chicken into the bowl of a slow cooker.

Step 2 – In a separate bowl, mix together the chili sauce and preserves.

Step 3 – Pour over the chicken and toss to coat chicken.

Step 4 – Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours.

Step 5 – Serve hot over cooked rice or vegetables, or both.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 32 oz. frozen pre-cooked meatballs (or make your own)
  • 14 oz. can cranberry sauce
  • 12 oz. chili sauce

Directions

Step 1 – Pour sauces over meatballs in a slow cooker and combine them.

Step 2 – Cover and cook on HIGH for about 3-4 hours.

Step 3 – Serve over rice if desired as a meal or individually as a cocktail appetizer. Enjoy!

Slow Cooker Shredded Buffalo Chicken Sliders

Ingredients

  • 4 -5 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (mine were frozen)
  • 1 (12 ounces) bottle buffalo wing sauce, divided
  • 1/2 (1 ounce) package dry ranch salad dressing mix
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 packs of soft rolls like Kings Hawaiian brand rolls
  • (Optional: Try serving with coleslaw mix and bleu cheese dressing, fresh bleu cheese, or ranch dressing.)

Directions

Step 1 – Place the chicken breasts into a slow cooker, and pour in 3/4 of the wing sauce and the ranch dressing mix.

Step 2 – Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours.

Step 3 – Once the chicken has cooked, drain liquid if any, add the butter, the rest of the buffalo sauce, and shred the meat finely with two forks.

Step 4 – Serve with rolls and coleslaw with blue cheese or ranch dressing if desired.

3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Apple Dump Cake

Ingredients

  • Can of Apple Pie Filling
  • Box of Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 Stick of Butter

Directions

Step 1- The first thing you are going to want to do is to dump the can of apple pie filling into the bottom of the crockpot.

Step 2- Dump the yellow cake mix on top of the apples

Step 3 – Put the stick of butter on top

Step 4 – Cook on low for about 4 hours until the top is golden brown.

Slow Cooker Beef Tacos

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1 envelope of taco seasoning
  • 1 (10 oz) can of tomatoes & green chiles (like Rotel)

Directions

Step 1 – Just dump all 3 ingredients in your Crock-Pot, mix, and cook on Low for 5-6 hours.

Step 2 – If you can, stir every couple of hours to break up the ground beef. But if you are not home, you can just break up the meat into smaller chunks right before serving.

Step 3 – Serve with taco shells and/or flour tortillas and your favorite taco toppings.

Slow Cooker Fiesta Chicken

Ingredients

  • Salsa Jar (16 oz)
  • 1 Can of Campbell’s Condensed Cheddar Soup
  • 2.5 lbs Boneless Chicken

Directions

Step 1 – Add all three ingredients into your slow cooker.

Step 2 – Stir periodically.

Step 3 – Cook in your slow cooker for about 4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low. Voila!

Slow Cooker Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 6 large peaches, peeled and sliced (this will seem like a lot of peaches but believe me, you won’t regret it)
  • 1 white cake mix, unprepared (you can also use a yellow cake mix if you prefer)
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened

Directions

Step 1 – Place sliced peaches in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Step 2 – In a medium bowl, combine the cake mix (unprepared) with the butter. Cut the butter into the cake mix with a pastry blender (or fork or potato masher) until crumbly.

Step 3 – Sprinkle cake mix mixture over peaches.

Step 4 – Place a paper towel or dishtowel on top of the slow cooker and seal with a slow cooker’s lid. Cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or on LOW for about 4 hours.

Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Crockpot Root Beer Honey BBQ Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds Chicken Wings thawed
  • 18 ounces Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey Barbecue Sauce {1 bottle}
  • 6 ounces A&W Root Beer {use ½ of a 12 oz. can}

Directions

Step 1 – Place Chicken Wings in Crockpot.
Step 2 – Cover with lid and cook on High for 2.5 hours.
Step 3 – After 2.5 hours, remove juices from crockpot.
Step 4 – In a small mixing bowl, combine Root Beer and BBQ Sauce and stir well.
Step 5 – Pour mixture over chicken. For crispier wings, retain 3/4 cup of sauce mixture and set aside for later. {see broiling instructions below}
Step 6 – Cover Crockpot, and cook for 30 minutes more, or until done. ENJOY!!
Step 7 – For crispier wings, place cooked wings on a foil-lined cookie sheet and drizzle with 1/4 cup of the remaining sauce and place under Broiler for 5 minutes, then flip wings and drizzle with another 1/4 cup of sauce and place under broiler for an additional 5 minutes, then flip once more, drizzle with remaining 1/4 cup of sauce and place under broiler for 5 more minutes. ENJOY!

Dr. Pepper Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 Can of Dr. Pepper
  • 1 packet of Onion Soup Mix
  • 2-3 Pounds of Pork Roast

Directions

Step 1 – Cut the Pork into sections so that it will fit into your crockpot.

Step 2 – Flip the pork pieces in the onion soup mix until they are coated.  Layer the chunks into the crockpot.  Pour Dr. Pepper over the pork until it is nearly covered in your cooker.

Step 3 – Cook on high for 4-5 hours.  We aren’t exact with our cooking times – the benefits of cooking in a crockpot!
