Easy Fall Drinks You Can Make At Home

With fall fast approaching (and, I mean, fast approaching), it’s high time to think about how to maximize some of the yummiest fall flavours and scents, and what better want to do that than by making some easy fall drinks?

I’ve included both non-alcoholic and alcoholic fall drinks, as well as some that are both hot and cold — those to help cool you down but also warm your soul.

1. Apple Cider

Probably the easiest and most simple fall drink you can replicate at home is autumnal apple cider. All you need is a slow cooker and several to help with the process of melding the delicious fall flavours together and several hours to let the slow cooker do its thing. Sally’s Apple Cider recipe recommends the addition of 1 orange, 10 medium apples in various styles, 3 cinnamon sticks, 2 teaspoons of ground cloves, and granulated sugar.

While this recipe does take approximately 8 hours in the slow cooker, a lengthier time than you might want your drink prep time to be, but it’s oh so worth it. The several hours in the slow cooker will not only make an amazing drink but it will infuse your home with the most aromatic scents to celebrate the transition into fall.

Tip: You can add bourbon to your concoction if you want to make Apple Cider Hot Toddy!

2. Plum and Thyme Prosecco Smash

Really delve deep into those fall colours with this Plum and Thyme Prosecco Smash easy fall drink recipe from My Diary of Us. Shared directly from her blog, Leigh Ann calls for:

  • 2 plums
  • 6 thyme sprigs
  • juice from one Lemon
  • 4 tbsp thyme simple syrup (bring 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water to boil, remove from heat, add thyme sprigs, and let cool until chilled)
  • 1 bottle of prosecco or bubbly

I wanted to share this drink as part of my easy fall drinks list because it is not only aesthetically beautiful, with the aubergine-coloured plums and soft green thyme sprigs, but it tastes so. good. Celebrate the transition into fall with this delicious cocktail!

3. Tahini Hot Chocolate

Rich, nutty, and a perfect and easy fall drink, Molly’s Tahini Hot Chocolate warms my heart just thinking about it, nevermind drinking it. This drink is so good you’ll be drinking it well into the Christmas season!

Here is the list of ingredients Molly recommends for this recipe, shared directly from her blog, My Name is Yeh:

  • 1 can of light coconut milk
  • 1/4 of cocoa powder
  • 3 tb of tahini
  • 2 tb of honey
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • a splash of vanilla extract
  • a pinch of cinnamon

Molly recommends whisking all of these ingredients together and heating over medium heat. You can serve with whatever you like on top (whipped cream, cinnamon, cinnamon sticks, etc.)!

4. Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mules

If you love your pumpkin spice lattes kick it up a notch with these pumpkin spice Moscow mules from Freutcake. Leah’s Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mules is an easy fall drink recipe with five ingredients that, when mixed together, will seriously get you in the mood for autumn.

As shared on Freutcake, here are the ingredients you need for this recipe:

See Also
  • 2-4 oz vanilla or traditional vodka, depending on how sweet you want your cocktail
  • 1 tbsp of pumpkin purée plus extra to garnish later
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • squeeze of lime
  • spicy ginger beer

Leah also recommends that you can all more lime to balance out the sweetness of the vanilla vodka and add some pumpkin pie spice to top off your cocktail for some serious fall flavour.

5. Vanilla Chai Old Fashioned

Whereas the Moscow Mule is a perfect easy fall drink for early fall, I think this Vanilla Chai Old Fashioned from Half Baked Harvest is a drink best suited to later fall, right around the time when the weather gets colder and you’re about ready to nestle inside for the rest of the year until you see blooms. In other words, this is a perfect and easy fall drink recipe to make as we transition from fall to winter, right around the time of American Thanksgiving; its rich flavour will warm the heart as the spice will heat you from the inside out.

This recipe is split into two sections: making the chai simple syrup and the chai old fashioned. To make the Simple Syrup, Tieghan of Half Baked Harvest recommends having on hand:

  • 4 chai tea bags
  • 1/3 cup of real maple syrup
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

For the Old Fashioned, you need a bit more ingredients, shared directly from Half Baked Harvest:

  • 2 oz or 1/4 cup of bourbon
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 dash of orange bitters
  • 1-2 oz or 2-4 tbsp of chai tea syrup
  • sparkling water
  • cinnamon and star anise, for serving

The beauty of this easy fall drink recipe is that you can make the syrup ahead of time and store it in the fridge so that you can make it any time you want!

What easy fall drink recipes are getting you ready for the fall? Have you tried any on this list, or do you have any that you want to share? I’d love to hear them!
