Living in a dorm can be so much fun. You are living alone for the first time, meeting all kinds of new people, becoming best friends with your roommate! Dorms are a great way to meet people that are new to the college experience much like you, so meeting these people is a great way to get comfortable with this new environment. Having a dorm party is a wonderful way to get all of these people together to mingle and make friends! But, in order to have a successful dorm party, one that will have everyone talking about it all year long, you need some dorm party essentials. Here, I have made a list of dorm party essentials that will make your dorm party the best that your dorm has ever seen.
College kids can be pretty messy, especially at a party, so having disposable cups at your dorm party will make all the difference when it comes to clean up time after the party. You can get clear ones so that they look a little bit more nice, or red solo cups, or any color cup that you want. You can even match your cups to your party theme if you have one!
Much like disposable cups, having disposable plates will make it a lot easier for you to clean up after your party. You won’t have to worry about washing dishes after everyone is gone, you can just throw them in the trash! It will make your party a breeze.
People love to snack, even when they aren’t particularly hungry. Having snacks are dorm party essentials that you simply can’t forget. Without snacks, people will get awkward and might get hungry and leave. You don’t want that. Have a good variety of snack available for your guests, such as Cheetos, popcorn, and chips.
Without decorations, your party will look lame and like you didn’t put any effort into it. Streamers are cheap and easy dorm party essentials that will make your dorm party look great with minimal effort. Just hang them up in a cute way and people will be satisfied.
A party is not complete without music, and that music will not have any effect if people can’t hear it. Having a good speaker will allow you to turn up the party with some great tunes, making the people move, or even using it as background noise.
To go along with that good speaker, you need a great playlist. If you are playing lame music, people won’t be very interested. A great playlist will have your guests moving and groovin’ all party long!
Having a trash can around will help the clean up process in the future. People will throw away their trash during the party so that you don’t have to worry about it afterward, and then afterward you will be able to clean up easier. Plus, you really should have a trash can. And a recycling bing. Save the planet!
Having cool lights in your dorm will both help make your dorm party look awesome, but it will make your dorm look awesome too. Who doesn’t want a cool looking dorm all year long!
You can put drinks, colder snacks, and other edible dorm party essentials in a mini-fridge. This way you won’t have to worry about it going bad!
Having coozies handy will help your guests drinks stay nice and cool, and they wont leave condensation everywhere. Win win!
