1. A DIY hair mask for dry hair:
One of the most common types of hair problems is dry hair, especially when Winter arrives. To combat this there are a few easy DIY hair treatments that can get you moisturised, healthy hair without much effort. One of which is the much-loved super-food avocado, you may often see this product spread across toast on Pinterest on Instagram. But, it isn’t just good for your body, your hair also loves it. You can mash an avocado and some essential oil such as peppermint. After washing hair normally, squeeze out any remaining water and then apply the mask for 15-30 minutes you could do a face mask or something else during this time. This will make your hair shiny and bouncy, if you are looking for a runnier consistency why not try adding some water or yoghurt to the homemade mixture. You cannot get something much more natural than this, not to mention it doesn’t cost the earth.
2. Coconut oil for the win:
Coconut oil is another well-loved multi-functional DIY hair treatments, you may see it being used in cooking or even to remove makeup. However, damaged hair also can be saved from this wonderful product. Many people find dryness tends to be at the end of their hair rather than at the root. Coconut oil helps penetrate deep into the hair shaft, so you do not need much of it to make a difference. Take a teaspoon or two depending on the thickness or length of your hair and apply to the ends. You can leave this overnight if you need a really deep treatment or rinse out after 30-40 minutes. You can melt down the coconut oil to create a liquid and then work it into the ends of your hair.
3. The treatment for oily hair:
Not all hair problems are for dry broken hair, many people struggle with greasy hair which can make it hard to style and keep looking fresh. You can do an easy treatment to fix this at home though. All you need is an egg and a lemon, yes only two ingredients for this easy DIY hair mask. Take an egg white and squeeze half the lemon and mix until you have a nice smooth consistency. On damp hair, apply all over and tie up and wait for 45 minutes. Rinse after and follow with your regular shampoo and conditioner. You should find you have refreshed, beautiful hair without much effort at all!
4. One for those struggling with hair growth:
Another common hair problem is trying to grow your hair past a certain length. However, there is a simple DIY treatment that can help encourage growth at home! This mask not only encourages growth, it can help cleanse and treat the scalp as well as strengthen the hair follicles. This is all down to a power ingredient of cinnamon thanks to its antimicrobial properties. Mix with whatever have in your house, either water, oil or coconut oil. Then once it has made a nice paste, massage into the sculp. Massage is another key point to encouraging the hair to grow. Again, let this sit for about 40 minutes and then rinse as normal.
