Who doesn’t love a good long weekend? They’re something to look forward to all week, and when they’re finally here, the possibilities for how to spend them are endless. Here are some ideas on where to spend your next 3-day getaway.

Washington, D.C.

This American classic is great for those who want to get more in-touch with politics, while also take in beautiful sights. A great starter while in D.C. is to visit the Capitol Building. Filled with exhibits and pieces of art, while walking around, you might even see some people from congress! The White House is another great spot for a feel of politics, with beautiful gardens surrounding it. You can sign up for a tour, and learn more about what goes on inside, and the history that has taken place inside that building. The Lincoln Memorial is another can’t-miss stop while you’re in the nation’s capitol. Read through the stories of history as you walk around and overlook the Reflecting Pool.

Stowe, Vermont

Head up to the mountains for a peaceful weekend and fresh air. Stowe offers lots of outdoor activities, from hiking to mountain biking to chairlift rides. Smugglers’ Notch is a popular resort that has lots of options for all-inclusive packages, varying based on the season. Take your family up for a weekend of skiing, or for a chairlift to take in the fall foliage. Moss Glen Fall Trail is another spot with hiking terrain and instagram-worthy views. Boston, Massachusetts

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
