Here are 5 of our top favourite party foods that work on all occasions- be it dinner parties, casual get together with friends, housewarming or maybe just a gluttonous weekend with your partner (no judgement here!).

1. Homemade Hummus

Serving dips are an easy way to entertain no matter what the occasion. These party foods always go down a treat, they are all crowd pleasers and so easy to make at home! While you may be tempted to pop over to the shop or nearest supermarket and pick up a pot, once you try this recipe for homemade hummus, you will be making this all the time! Serve with crisps, warm flat breads, mini pittas or even some crisp crudites for a gluten free version.

2. Homemade Guacamole

Keeping with the theme of dips, This recipe for homemade guacamole is another crowd pleaser. Serve with homemade tortilla chips or nachos from a bag. This also tastes wonderful on crisp crackers with a dollop of cream cheese (mid morning snack anyone?). Winner winner.

3. Baked Camembert

Who doesn’t love gooey melted cheese? This is one recipe you can literally use any time. It always goes down a treat, requires minimal effort (and minimal clean up!-you can literally bake it within the container it comes in, just remember to remove the plastic wrapper of course) and can be served at barbecues, posh dinner parties, even Christmas! You can flavour it with aromatic rosemary and garlic that goes wonderfully sweet when roasting in the oven. Add a good sprinkle of salt and pepper and serve up with warm crusty bread. Let’s not leave dessert out, you’ve got to have some sweet treats on hand for your guests. Cheesecake is always a good idea, and these individually served cheesecake pots work so well. Your guests will totally be impressed by the presentation (when in fact it only takes about 10 minutes to assemble, but sshhh!). Great for summers in the sunshine, these also work fantastically no matter what the season or occasion. You can replace the strawberries for any flavour that you like, try apricot, blueberry or even some tangy lemon curd. This recipe is also lower in fat as it substitutes some of the cream cheese with low fat yoghurt, which means they’re much lighter than your regular cheesecakes. Guilt free and totally delicious.

5. Easy Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Party food should always be easy to prep as well as easy to cook. This recipe for bacon wrapped shrimp is just that. You can prep all of it in advance and only takes 10 minutes to cook in the oven which means more time to spend with your friends and family! Don’t forget to check the bottom of the recipe, there are a few variations at the bottom of the recipe which are worth exploring. Also, don’t forget to experiment with dipping sauces! Sriracha, garlic mayonnaise, sweet chilli all work really well with the shrimp.

Party food has got to be tasty but without too much fuss. You don’t want to spend almost all of the party trying to organise the food and have your guests fed. Prep things in advance and have it served out so everyone can help themselves. And with these recipes, you won’t need to stress. Do you have any other recipes you think are perfect party foods?
