10 Dates To Go On Based On Your Partner’s Love Language

Everyone has a love language. Whenever you enter a new relationship you should know what yours and your partner’s love language is so you can plan the perfect love language date. Often times, our love language is different from our partner’s, making it challenging to come up with fun and unique love language date ideas. I’ve compiled a list of love language dates (two for each love language) that you can go on no matter what your partner’s love language is.

If you don’t know what either of your love languages are, take the quiz here: https://www.5lovelanguages.com/quizzes/

Quality Time

If your partner’s love language is quality time then they’re going to be happy going on a love language date where they can just spend as much time alone with you as possible.

1. “Your Favorite Movies” Night

A night in watching your favorite movies is the perfect love language date for someone who expresses love with quality time. Grab your sofa cushions or bring a mattress out into the living room, make it cozy with blankets and pillows, gather up all your favorite snacks and drinks, dim the lights, and put on all the movies you like to watch together to create a night full of each other’s company and no other distractions.

2. Hiking

For those adventurous and outdoorsy couples, a hike on one of your partner’s favorite trails is the perfect quality time love language date. The comfortable silence that might occur while the two of you are hiking will be pleasant and welcomed – all they need is for you to be there with them. Plus, tackling a difficult hike with the person you enjoy the most is no small feat!

Acts of Service

Love language dates for a partner who expresses love through acts of service include you doing something for them that shows you care about them and know their specific interests.

3. Cook Dinner For Them

This one might seem like an obvious one, but it is one that works every time! Cooking a homemade meal for your partner shows them that you put your time and effort into planning and preparing something special for them to eat and enjoy.  While it seems like an easy and safe love language date, it actually screams thoughtfulness and appreciation for someone who cherishes acts of service.

4. Go To A Museum or Show

If  you’ve noticed your partner is super into modern art or enjoys listening to Harry Styles, this provides an opportunity for you to plan out a love language date that they’ll enjoy. Buy them a ticket to the best modern art museum in your city or to the Harry Styles tour stop closest to you and then go with them to that museum or concert. They’ll appreciate the fact that you’ve paid attention to their interests and have shown an interest in them as well.

Words of Affirmation

It can be a little hard to find quality love language dates for someone whose love language is words of affirmation. This means your partner enjoys when you show you care for them through words. Often times, dates aren’t solely based around words, so we have to think out of the box a little bit.

5. Exchange Love Letters

Because words of affirmation is my love language, I’ve discovered that writing and exchanging love letters is one of my favorite things to do with my significant other on our love language date nights. Go to a coffee shop and sit at different tables, then take some time to write each a love letter. Swap the letters and read them right then and there. I promise you, the connection and love that will be felt during that love language date will be immense and you’ll both feel good after.

6. Visit A Bookstore

If your partner’s love language is words of affirmation there’s a good chance that they like books. A love language date that is perfect for the wordy person in your life is going to their favorite bookstore where you can each of you can go off and find a book that you know you’ll both enjoy and read them to one another. This date is super swoon-worthy and is a perfect way to share powerful words with your partner while igniting some romance.

Receiving Gifts

If your partner’s love language is receiving gifts that doesn’t necessarily mean that they only want you to buy them the most expensive gifts all the time. They want to go on a love language date that is simply more than receiving materialistic things.

7. Paint Together

Take your partner to a paint night and exchange the paintings that each of you make. This way the gift is homemade and reminds your partner of the night when you made them. The thoughtfulness of this date and the gift that comes from it will have your partner smiling from ear to ear making a paint night the perfect love language date.

8. Have A Spa Night

Treat your guy or lady to a night filled with things that they like to do. If your lady needs a self-care night, show up with face masks, bath bombs, and wine and do them together. If your guy is craving a “guys night,” but wants to spend it with you, show up with video games, pizza, and his favorite beer. These love language dates are the gift that you’ll give to your partner.

Physical Touch

I know what you’re all thinking with this one, but before we get ahead of ourselves there are actual love language dates for those who speak through physical touch. This just means that they want nothing more than to be able to physically touch you whenever it’s possible during your love language date. Whether it be with a hug, by holding your hand, or wrapping their arm around your shoulder, your partner will do everything to be nice and close to you.

9. Go Ice Skating

Ice skating is the perfect love language date from someone who emits love through physical touch. Not only can you cutely skate around the rink while holding each other’s hands, but if one of you falls the other can come to your rescue and help you up. Physical contact makes your partner feel safe as well as loved, and if you’re there to support and hold them while ice skating they’re sure to have the time of their life on the date. Also, think about the cute pictures that will come out of it!

10. Haunted House or Amusement Park

Let’s say the two of you are thrill seekers and your partner’s love language also happens to be physical touch. Then an amusement park or a haunted house is the perfect love language date! At both of these places, there is guaranteed to be at least a couple instances where you’ll need to protect and hold each other’s hands. You might even have to hug and comfort your partner after they get scared walking through a scary maze or when they get off the amusement parks tallest rollercoaster. The two of you will reach your thrill and physical touch quota by the end of the night!
