Clothing Styles We Used To Hate But Now Love

Clothing styles and fads come and go over time, and they might even make unexpected comebacks! These comebacks provide us the opportunity to reconsider some trends and generate new opinions. Here are clothing styles that we used to hate but now love!

1. Black And White

The first of the clothing styles we used to despise is mixing black and white. BTW: We’re talking about solid black and solid white with no patterns or designs. Perhaps the transition to loving this combination is a sign of maturity or growth because previously, the only thing that sprang to mind when we saw black and white together was an oreo. However, as we’ve grown older, we’ve realized that black and white, particularly a black top with white slacks, is a very sophisticated and classy combination. The best aspect is that no matter how you tweak the outfit, it will always maintain its minimalistic beauty; you can go from fashionable chic to romantic elegance with it.

2. Brown Clothing

Brown Clothing is the next item on our list, and it’s one of those clothing styles we vowed we’d never wear. I recall making a commitment to myself that I would never, ever wear any brown clothing. When brown was frowned upon, the best you could get away with was a light tan; it was tough to be on the side of brown when other minimalist hues like black and white were in the running. Although brown was once thought to be nothing more than the color of dirt (and other things), we’ve come to discover that it’s actually quite fashionable. Brown is a minimalistic color that comes in a variety of tints ranging from dark chocolate to caramel coffee and can be styled in any way you’d like! Trust us when we say that brown is trending for a reason, and you should hop on the train.

3. Platform Shoes

While we previously would have argued that platform shoes were clunky and unnecessary, our minds have changed. This is one of the clothing styles for which we owe an apology; the platform not only adds a little height for the shorter people, but you can also choose to have more or less height based on your desire. There are platform sandals, sneakers, and boots, all of which lend a fashionable and modern edge to your outfit all while also making your legs look longer! Not only that, but they’re available in a variety of colors and fabrics, so there’s something for everyone. Give platform shoes a chance; they will not let you down.

4. Bright Colors

Here’s another one of those clothing styles to which we owe a sincere apology: Bright Colors. Oranges, yellows, and neons were all hues we refused to look at because they appeared way too tough to style and put together an outfit with! We were shortly proven wrong when we found that these colors are joyful and flirtatious and don’t require special textbook style. It doesn’t matter how you wear them; they’ll brighten up your outfits and make you feel better just by looking in the mirror. Plus, certain bright hues will complement your hair color, skin tone, and eye color! We strongly advise you to give these bright hues a shot; you’ll be astonished at how good they look.

5. The Color Green

We know what you’re thinking: green is all the rage these days! True, but for a while, the only color that was popular was army green, which we despised. Our heads were turned when colors like sage green were introduced, and now we love it! The color is classy while also being flirtatious and playful; the hue itself exudes positive energy and is the ideal summer shade. It’s all about appreciating the fact that colors exist in so many different tones that it’s difficult not to discover one you like. Green is a great hue to wear since it makes eye colors pop and hair colors look brighter; it’s also one of the clothing styles you should try!

6. Trousers

Previously, trousers would have been known as grandpa pants. However, trousers are on the rise in the fashion world for a reason: they’re stylish and easy to dress up or down. They are classy while being easy to dress up or down. They’re not only 10 times more comfortable than tight jeans, but they can also be dressed in any manner you like thanks to the thousands of color and texture combinations available. Leather ones with a jacket or white-colored ones with a graphic shirt; either way, you’ll look great! Trousers are the way to go if you’re seeking a simple approach to add a fashionable twist to your clothes!

7. Sweater Vests

This one is another one of those clothing styles that would previously be known as something for grandpas, but its status has changed! A few years ago, we would have laughed at the fact that people were stealing a recipe from their grandpa’s stylebook. Now sweater vests are a component that adds a subtle uniqueness to your outfit while styling them in any way you feel looks best. And don’t worry, there are other sweater vests that don’t have to have the typical grandpa design on them; you can opt for a solid color or solid knit one if you’re not ready to take on the argyle look.

8. Monochrome

It used to be a catastrophic disaster when you’d realize that you were wearing the same color on your top and bottom, now it’s referred to as monochromatic style and we’re all here for it. The idea of combining the same color together used to seem weird to us; until we realized that there are many different ways to style a monochromatic outfit. You are not required to always wear the exact same shade, in fact, you can wear different hues of the same color and that looks just as stylish! If anything, styling a monochromatic outfit is easier than having to find colors that go together. That being said, in 2021 go monochrome!

9. Biker Shorts

This is one of those clothing styles that is still widely controversial. We have to argue that in the past we thought biker shorts were unconventional and just plain ugly; why would anyone want to wear shortened leggings? However, after seeing plenty of celebrities wearing them left and right and styling them in different ways, we’re convinced that biker shorts are in. They’re comfortable and easy to throw on for a workout or a simple stroll to get coffee. If you’re not convinced, try a workout set that includes biker shorts! We know that it may be hard, but we hated them at first too and now love them!

10. Button-Up Blouses

Button-up blouses are the last item on our list of clothing styles we used to despise but now adore. You’d never catch us dead in a blouse unless it was for business or anything official; the concept of a shirt buttoned all the way down screamed too formal to us. It is, however, all about how you style it, just like many of the other clothing styles we discussed today. It’s simple to style a blouse such that it’s trendy and exciting rather than formal and dull! Give them a chance, especially if they’re oversized or come in fun colors or patterns.
