Best Vegan Dishes To Eat When You Live With A Vegan But Aren’t One

It isn’t convenient or cheap to always have a vegan dish and a non-vegan dish at the dinner table. It can also be very time consuming preparing two meals, so I have provided some vegan dishes that the whole family can enjoy and added some tips to make the food more palatable for our meat lovers!

Vegan Fried Cauliflower

Texture can make a huge difference to the meat lover in your tribe. Tofu might not allow you to think you’re biting into the juiciest chicken, but the crispy coating on the cauliflower tricks your senses into thinking that you are biting into chicken nuggets. I won’t lie and say they taste the same, but the cauliflower is really good, so I suggest you give it a try. Click the picture below for a recipe!

Salads

Sometimes it’s best to not trick yourself into eating food disguised as other food. In those times, sticking with the basics can be the best option. Salads are easy vegan dishes that can be altered to fit anyone’s tastes. You can add all of the fruits and vegetables that you want and then in your own bowl, add cheese or dressing that you favor! This has always been a simple dinner in my household and you don’t have to worry about taking chances on vegan meat or cheese. I still have yet to endeavor in vegan cheese.

Vegan Black Bean Burger

For me this was easy because I always liked black bean burgers, but for those who are not familiar with this food, once again, you will not think that you are eating a regular burger, but it does taste really good. Every recipe is different, so I can’t pinpoint an exact flavor but essentially, if you like black beans, there’s a good chance you’ll like these too. Add your own cheese, condiments, and bread to make it your own and you will be good to go. Many restaurants offer these as alternatives if you don’t want to make one, but for those who do, click the picture below for a recipe!

Fruit Salad

A great desert that everyone can enjoy is a fruit salad. It is light and refreshing, but also adds sweetness so that you don’t feel like you are missing out. If a bowl of fruit on its own isn’t wetting your appetite, you can always add nuts and then to your personal bowl, add a dollop of whipped cream. Sponge cake also goes well too.

Vegan Pancakes

For the breakfast lovers out there, it might seem like it would be difficult to find vegan dishes that won’t make you feel deprived so early in the morning. I am a big breakfast food lover, so if I am going to eat a mostly vegan meal, I want to make sure that I will still enjoy it. For me, vegan pancakes are a great option. The whole family can enjoy them and when it comes to your personal plate, you can use whatever syrup that you like and have the sides that you want too, so everyone wins!

When living with a vegan, the best idea is to have your main dish be vegan and to add your favorite foods or condiments to it. By doing so, you won’t have to prepare two completely different meals and can spend your money on other things. There are many different vegan dishes out there that can satisfy everyone in your party and won’t cause a headache in the kitchen.

Let me know of any other vegan dishes you enjoy. Also, let me know if you tried any of these foods and what you think!
