In Fort Collins there are few things to do other than drink, go outside, or work. Since we don’t have any say in your job, and the mountains are in our back yard we put together the 8 Best Bars in Fort Collins. Now you can drink like a local (In no particular order).
It’s hard to go to a night out in Old Town with out visiting Lucky Joes. It has peanuts (score) and is in the heart of the square. It’s easy to get around and though it is a college hang out most of the time, you can see people of all ages singing and dancing in the back.
This bar in Fort Collins is a bit hidden. No need to worry if you haven’t been there. It’s on the more mature side with locals in mid town enjoying a beer or two regularly. Even though this bar isn’t super hip, it has a laid back atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home. Not to mention your puppies are welcome. Which might be one of the best parts.
Elliot’s is a crowd pleaser. It is a Fort Collins martini bar, that is surrounded by craft beer places. On Wednesdays they have $5 Martinis and let’s just say the Mint On The pillow drink is absolutely delicious. Don’t miss this bar if you are looking for a well made martini or cocktail.
If only for the history and the tiny atmosphere Town Pump is still a happening bar. Town Pump is the oldest bar in Fort Collins opening in 1909, and has some really good cherries soaked in booze. Don’t forget your wallet though, because this place is cash only.
Yes, this place is gross, and no one is sure how they end up there. However if you are looking for a club scene in Fort Collins this is the closest you are going to get. There is dancing, sticky floors, and weak drinks. Yet it is still a top destination for the end of the night, when all you want to do is dance and find someone to go home with.
It’s fancy-ish and not pretentious at all. Social has a speakeasy feel and decently priced cocktails. If you can get there before the line is super long good for you, if not, the line usually moves pretty fast and BONUS they have heaters in the winter. Great for a date night or just starting the evening. Please, please, please try the pretzels.
Fort Collins has a few dive bars, but Trail Head is a top destination. It has a very laid back atmosphere, and great bar tenders. Grab a pitcher and sit at the tables or go in the back and play pool. It’s not fancy but it’s a great jeans and flannel place, that will make everyone feel at welcome.
Who doesn’t like the original Pinball Jones in the basement at the square? As much as that bar is great, the campus west version might be better. With more room for the outdoor concerts and bigger arcade games, it is giving the first Pinball Jones a run for its money. Also it’s nice to see a new atmosphere other than Old Town.
Although these are our favorites in Fort Collins, there are so many amazing bars we couldn’t mention. Grabbing a drink in Fort Collins is as easy as connecting with nature at Horsetooth. So go look around and find your favorite.
