8 Items You Must Have In Your Autumn Wardrobe

Autumn is the in-between season as we all know it for, it’s not super cold as winter yet, but is not as warm as summer. With the weather so uncertain it can be hard to decide what items you should stock up on for your autumn wardrobe. Here are 8 clothing items you must have in your autumn wardrobe if you want to be prepared for the season.

1. A Light Cardigan

A light cardigan is a must, for as we know it, autumn is the transition season and a little bit of that colder air is starting to pick up. A light cardigan will give you that little bit of warmth without overheating you and will slip on top of any outfit and right into your handbag to store away when the sun does come out.

2. A Pair Of Sheer Stockings

Now I’ve included a pair of sheer stockings as a must-have as many of you ladies may still be wanting to wear those summer dresses. I mean, why not? There’s still a glimpse of sun during the start of season, the winter blues haven’t fully kicked in just yet. Choosing a sheer stocking instead of a coloured one will ensure you haven’t overpowered the dress with a winter look. To top it off you can stay a little warmer when the cool breeze comes through without anyone noticing you have a pair on. Think of sheer stockings as a seasonal fling you can go to them for a little bit of warmth, but not everyone needs to know.

3. A Light Scarf

A light scarf is a fashion statement that works its way into transition seasons, if not all year round. They offer a little warmth opposed to a big fluffy winter scarf, which is why they are an autumn must-have. A light scarf is your way of saying I’m ready to say goodbye to summer, but I’m not quite ready for you just yet winter! You can also be super creative this season and use this fashion item to spouse up your outfits, by choosing colourful and patterned scarfs, you’re sure to make that autumn statement.

4. A Pair Of Black Jeans

Now, it’s no secret a pair of black jeans is a wardrobe must-have and an autumn asset. Think of all the possible outfits you can put together with a pair of black jeans, from warm days where a t-shirt and a pair of sneakers on jeans will get you through to a nice fluffy jumper and a pair of boots to accompany the jeans on a colder night. The best thing about a pair of black jeans is you can dress them down with flats or dress them up with heels, so no matter the weather or what event you have during the season, you’re sure to be caught up in a pair of black jeans.

5. A Loose Short Dress

A loose short dress is a must-have this season. Not only is it super cute and can be worn in the warmer days for a fun and fashionable autumn statement. But, you can also style it up for the colder days, by putting a long top underneath or a jumper on top paired with some wintery boots or stylish closed shoes. Don’t be afraid to accessorise either, hats, beanies, and stockings go well with this cozy look, ideal for the autumn breeze.

6. A Three Quarter Top

Once again this fashion item is a must-have in that autumn wardrobe of yours. You know those in-between weather days that the season is known for? Well with a three-quarter top, you’re sure to be covered. If it’s a warm day, you could wear this top on a skirt or a pair of jeans, and if it’s a little chilly, you could wear it underneath a cardigan or a light jacket. What I love about three-quarter tops is they don’t just make it into the autumn wardrobe either, but you can wear them in winter as an underlay gourmet under your jumpers, to stay extra warm.

7.  A Pair Of Closed Shoes

With autumn in the air and an unpredictable weather forecast, filling the wardrobe with closed shoes is a must. Yeah, it’s no secret that it’s getting colder especially in the later months leading up to winter, and there’s nothing worse than heading out on an afternoon with a chance of rain in open toe shoes, to get caught up in the soaking rain with exposed toes. Always be prepared for unexpected weather changes!

8. A Big Cozy Coat

Lastly, I’ve added a cozy coat to finish off. So autumn isn’t as cold as winter that’s for sure, but in the later months leading into winter, it does start to cool down and the days do start to get a bit colder. For this reason, I’ve included a cozy coat, as you’re sure to get use of it when the winter weather starts to break through. On the plus side, getting a cozy coat in autumn already has you sorted for winter.
