15 Amazing Christmas Cookie Recipes That Santa Will Eat Up

As the temperatures drop and winter starts to show up it’s that time of year to get back in the kitchen and start baking for the holidays. Who doesn’t love delicious homemade cookies to warm up your home and fill it with sweet smells? I’m sure you’ve got your own Christmas cookie recipes that you do at home by why not try these recipes to spice things up in the kitchen. 1. Hot Chocolate Cookies

 These cookies just go divine with a cup of your favorite warm drink and Christmas movie. Snuggled up on the couch with this gooey chocolate lovers’ dream cookie is exactly what you want to do for the holidays.

  •  1/2 cup unsalted butter
  •  one 12-ounce bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
  •  1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
  •  3 large eggs
  •  2 tsp vanilla extract
  •  1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  •  1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  •  1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  •  1/4 tsp salt
  •  about 8 ounces dark chocolate
  •  about 12 large marshmallows

Directions

1. Start by melting chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. You can do this my initially microwaving for 1 minute. Then microwave for bursts of 15 seconds stirring in between each heating process once all chocolate and butter are melted. In a separate bowl beat the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until all mixed together. Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the egg and sugar mix till well combined. Add all the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until well combined. Make sure to scrape the sides.

2. Cover the bowl with plastic and let sit in the fridge for about 2 hours. If too firm let it cool down on a counter until it is able to be scooped.

3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Place a baking sheet on a cookie tray or spray the tray with non-stick oil. Using a spoon scoop out a small mound of cookie dough and place them two inches apart on the cookie tray. (Fits about 8 cookies)

4. Flatten the cookie dough then bake for around 10 minutes. After 10 minutes take the cookies out and place a piece of dark chocolate on top pressing down so it sinks into the cookie. On top of that place a halved marshmallow.

5. Put the tray back into the oven for about 5 more minutes or until the marshmallow puffs up. Take the tray out and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

2. Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a little twist to an all-time classic of the oatmeal cookie. It’s definitely a winner for the more popular Christmas cookie recipes.

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1-1/2 tsp baking soda
