All Of The Fruits And Veggies In Season This Fall You Need In Your Dishes

Fall is around the corner! We can’t believe it has come so fast, yet the orange season is back this year and we are ready to enjoy it! One of our favorite things from this season is the variety of fruits and veggies that farmers are starting to grow and selling on the markets.

Mainly because we can alter our regular foods and improve them with some items you might not always find around. Enjoy this list of our favorite fruits and veggies you should start adding to your dishes during fall season.

1. Beets

Fresh beets can be found with their greens still attached to them in markets. This veggie grows better in temperate climates that usually come with the fall season. You can use beets to make them in fries, salads or roasted, the options are infinite!

2. Cranberries

Specially used to make that traditional cranberry sauce during Thanksgiving this fruit is harvest in New England and the Upper Midwest during fall season. You can make a wide range of different cranberry sauces, add them to drinks or desserts of your choice.

3. Brussel Sprouts

This veggie grows on a stalk during fall season. Brussel spouses have more recipes to try than the regular boiled veggie. Try frying them with garlic and parmesan cheese or adding them to a pizza for a unique shoot of flavor in every bite.

4. Pears

Even though you can find pears all year round the best season to harvest them is during the fall because of the temperatures on the weather. That’s why during fall you usually see a lot more of desserts or regular foods that involve pears. Try this fruit combined with blue cheese or in pies.

5. Peppers

Either you enjoy sweet pepper or spicy ones, these fruits, because they are a fruit, are harvested early fall. Peppers can be found in different colors such as red, orange, green or yellow, each with their own unique flavor to add to your dishes, including fajitas, salads or soups.

6. Horseradish

Horseradish root is another veggie that typically grows during fall season. This veggie is used as flavoring for soups, stews or added as a garnish over roasted meats. Horseradish has a bit of a bitter aftertaste but it’s still a great addition to your meals to turn them into a unique savoring experience.

7. Chard

Best harvest in early fall on colder areas because it avoids this veggie turning bitter. Chard is a green leafy veggie similar to a beet’s leaves.  Sometime sit can be called Swiss Chard and you can use it altogether or separate the stalks and the leaves and use them in different dishes. You can make quiche with this veggie plus jam and cheese or add it to salads.
