Let the 4th of July celebrations begin! Chicago is the ultimate place to celebrate practically any event, but what can be more patriotic than partying on Independence day in the best city in the USA?! Here are some cool Fourth of July events that you should check out this year!

Parade, Independence Park 10:00-12:00am

Be sure to check out the main parade going on Fourth of July in Independence Park. It is completely free to go and see and a good way to start the party early in the day!

Fireworks and Dinner Cruise, Navy Pier 7:30-10:30pm

Fireworks are a must at Navy Pier on Fourth of July. The good thing about Navy Pier is that even if you can’t make it to the city on that day, they will usually have repeats of the show for the whole week at different times. Be sure to check the calendar of events on their website for details! You will not be disappointed with the extravagant firework show especially with a gorgeous view of the lake and skyline! The bout cruises also host multiple events, dinners, and parties that day so be sure to check out some of those such as the Mystic Blue and the Odyssey!

Cirque du Soleil Volta, Soldier Field 12:30pm

On the Fourth of July, Cirque du Soleil will be performing at Soldier Field! It is a show that people absolutely have to see at least once in their life! Performed by ridiculously talented acrobats, the “Circus of the Sun” show is extremely aesthetically pleasing as well as entertaining. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

Booze Cruise, DuSable Harbor 8:00-11:00pm

Just like Navy Pier, DuSable Harbor will be hosting booze cruises on the Fourth of July in the city. They are extremely fun to attend; who doesn’t want to go to a party on a boat?! Be sure to check out Eventbrite for similar booze cruises during the day and for tickets! Get those summer bods ready for a whole day (or night) of dancing and drinking!

Salute and Music Fest, Grant Park 6:30-8:30pm

Get the patriotism going at the Salute and Music Fest hosted in Grant Park on this upcoming Fourth of July! Full of music, dancing, and American love, it will surely be a good time here! Grant Park is known for hosting many concerts so this is the place to check out for any festivities going on!

Patio Party, Old Grounds Social 1:00-4:00pm

Old Grounds Social is hosting a Fourth of July party full of drinking and food all day! The pub will be providing traditional Chicago hot dogs from the grill, wells and domestics, pool, darts, shuffleboards, dunk tank, and other table games! You can get tickets for about $25 on Eventbrite!

Fourth of July 5k and 10k, 1:00pm

If you love to do runs and 5-10k’s then this event is for you! Chicago will be hosting the 5k and 10k runs so if you are up for the challenge then get those tickets on Eventbrite quickly before they are out! They currently start at only $9! Fifteen percent of the money will be used to the Homes For Our Troops organization, which helps build homes for very injured veterans. You can also purchase a t-shirt and hoodie, but only for a limited time. What is nice about this race is that is virtual so it can be completed at any location in the city and you choose either the 5k or 10k; all you would need to do is submit the time and the medals will be shipped to your home.
