Alcoholic Shot Recipes For People Who Hate Taking Shots

College is a big time for alcoholic shots and for good reason. They’re quick, cheap, and easy. Perfect for the average busy, broke, and tired college student. But what about the rest of us who don’t care for them? The major con: they taste horrible. It’s enough to make us gag. Yuck! Let’s change that. Not all shots have to taste awful. Take these shot recipes to the grocery store and with a little bit of patience, you’ll be the new shot sheriff in town! 

Drunken Gummy Bears

Shot recipes don’t always need to break the wheel! This recipe is a classic that everyone loves.

Ingredients:

  • Vodka
  • Gummy bears (I recommend Haribo)
  • A large bowl

Directions:

1. Put your gummies in the bowl. 

2. Next, pour enough vodka into each bowl to cover the gummies well.

3. Let sit for 20 hours.

4. Serve in shot glasses

S’mores Shots

Shot recipes will never be the same after this one. This recipe turned out so good, we forgot there was alcohol in it!

Ingredients:

1 oz. (30ml) Vanilla Vodka
2 oz. (60ml) Butterscotch Schnapps
1 oz. (30ml) Irish Cream
Garnish: Whipped Cream, Mini Marshmallows, Graham Crackers
Small Paper Cups
Chocolate Candy Melts

Directions:

1. Melt Chocolate Candy Melts and paint into interior of paper cups. Put in fridge to harden.
2. In a shaker with ice, combine vanilla vodka, butterscotch, schnapps, and Irish cream and shake.
3. Strain over chocolate cups.
4. Add Whipped cream, graham cracker crumbs and mini marshmallows.

Champagne Jello Shots

Now these are the kind of shot recipes we like! Fancy enough for us, we know you’ll love them too.

Ingredients:

6 oz. (180ml) Champagne
6 oz. (180ml) Ginger Ale
8 oz. (240ml) Hot Water
1/2 Cup Sugar
2 Envelopes Unflavored Gelatin
Garnish: Sprinkles/Glitter/Cupcake Toppers

Directions:

1. Add gelatin to hot water and stir well until combined.
2. Add sugar, stir until dissolved and allow to cool.
3. Once mix is cooled pour in champagne and ginger ale. Stir well.
4. Pour mixture into jello shot mold and place in refrigerator until fully set.
5. Garnish top of jello shot with glitter, sprinkles and/or cupcake toppers.

Jungle Juice Shots

3 oz. (90ml) Bacardi 151
3 oz. (90ml) Everclear
1 1/2 oz. (45ml) Vodka
1 1/2 oz. (45ml) Tequila
1 1/2 oz. (45ml) Rum
1 1/2 oz. (45ml) Gin
1 1/2 oz. (45ml) Coconut Rum
6 oz. (180ml) Passion Fruit Juice
6 oz. (180ml) Mango Nectar
2 oz. (60ml) Orange Juice
2 oz. (60ml) Blue Lemonade
1 1/2 oz. (45ml) Blue Curaçao
Fruits: Strawberry Slices, Orange Slices

Directions:

1. Drop fruits in base of pitcher and pour over liquors and mixers. Stir well.
2. Serve in shot glasses, garnished with an orange wedge.

Butter Beer Shots

We get it. Sometimes you need a drink to ease the pain of not getting into Hogwarts. This is a shot recipe that even Hermoine would approve of.

2 oz. (60ml) Butterscotch Schnapps
1 oz. (30ml) Vanilla Vodka
1 oz. (30ml) Cinnamon Schnapps
8 oz. (240ml) Cream Soda
1 Packet Gelatin
Garnish: Whipped Topping/Gold Flakes

Directions:

1. Heat cream soda until boiling and add gelatin. Leave to bloom and stir until combined.
2. Once cool, add butterscotch schnapps, vanilla vodka and cinnamon schnapps. Stir and pour into shot glasses. Refrigerate.
3. When jello has set, top with whipped topping and gold flakes.
