Add Some Spice to your Daily Makeup Routine

I often like to coordinate my outfit with my accessories, whether it be my bag, jewelry or shoes. Matching my makeup with my outfit is that much more fun. When your makeup matches your already great outfit, you feel completely put together from head to toe. Whether you’re just going to class or going out to a party, here are some tips on how to match your makeup to your outfit.

 1. Add an accent color. Does your shirt have some blue stripes on it? Or are there some blue flowers on your summer dress? A great, subtle way to add color, and match your makeup to your outfit is with a colored eyeliner in the same shade as the accents in your outfit. If you’re scared of it looking tacky or too bright, simply use it on your waterline or blur it out with a smudge brush or your fingers. Be sure to keep the rest of your makeup relatively simple. If colored makeup isn’t your thing, try white eyeliner on your water line, which will also make you look more awake!

2. Keep it simple, or add some edge. If you’re running late to class but want to have your outfit and makeup look put together, throw on a plain white T-shirt and jeans, swipe on some mascara, tinted moisturizer and chapstick, call it good and let the natural you shine bright. If you have some time but still want to keep it simple, add some winged out black eyeliner to your top lids and throw on a black blazer or moto jacket to add some edge to your look.

3. Add a little shimmer. If you have to dress up for a presentation or are getting ready to go out on a Friday night, instead of just wearing black eyeliner, dab some shimmery gold or silver eye shadow on your lids, and on the tear ducts of your eyes. Put on some gold or silver accessories to match your eye shadow and add some shimmer blush on your cheeks. Sport a skirt or dress with a sequins or glitter to top off your look. If you’re going all out, pair your outfit with some sparkly heels or flats and shimmer the night away.

4. Pop of lip color. A super fun way to pair your makeup with your outfit is with lip color. A red lip with a red top or dress will always look beautiful together, same goes for a pink lip with a pink dress or top. Play down your eyes so that your smile and lip color is the highlight of your makeup. Dust some blush on your cheeks to add color too your face that will go with your gorgeous lips and perfect outfit.
