15 Updos That Will Save You This Summer

It’s that time of year again. School is out, days are brighter, nights are longer and the heat can be so unbearable you’ll want to shave your head. If you’re not prepared to get that drastic with your attempts at staying cool here’s a list of 15 updos that will save you from a heat stroke.

1. Accessories

Adding accessories to updos will definitely make sure sure you never have the same look twice. For this look create a top knot with leaving some of your bangs out or create bangs by separating one inch from the hairline. Leave those strands out from the headband and curl them.

2. Low Pony

With this low ponytail you will have to put in minimal effort. Create a middle part, separate about an inch of hair and pull the rest back into a low pony. Curl the strands left out to frame your face.

3. Fishtail Braids

Instead of doing the typical french braids into pigtails consider making two fishtail braids instead. They will give you the same affect by keeping your hair out of your face but they are unexpected.

4. Braided Ponytail

Instead of creating two braids consider french braiding into one ponytail. It’s unexpected and will give you a unique look.

5. Top Knot

Although there is an art to creating the perfect top knot messy buns are a summer staple for a reason. If done correctly they can go well with just about anything. Leave it piecy with some strands falling out to make it look lived in.

6. Crown

You can accomplish this look by stuffing your braid or simply twisted hair into a headband. It’ll ensure that your hair stays in place and out of your face. One less thing you’ll have to worry about this summer.

7. Low Bun With Braids.

You can’t go wrong with a low bun. If you want your bun to stand out a little more consider putting some braids into it to give it a more sophisiticated look.

8. Low Buns

These are as cute as they are simple. They’re edgier than the typical bun and but aren’t complicated enough to give you a headache.

9. Braided Buns

If you want to add a little something to your typical buns try braiding up the back and wrapping your braids onto the top of your head. Although they make seem daunting with a little practice this will become one of your favorite updos.

10. Low Pony With Teased Crown

This low pony will be perfect if you want to go out but don’t want to have to try putting your hair up on the dance floor. Instead about worrying about your hair causing a heatstroke style it like the photo below. Tease your hair at the crown and bring it into a low ponytail. This is simple but one of the cutest updos that will keep you cool.

These buns are out of this world. They’re a great way to keep your hair off of your neck and it’s a great alternative to applying a bunch of heat to your hair when styling it. It’s great for natural hair as well.

12. Pineapple

This is a great look for women with natural hair. It’s a fairly simple hairstyle to accomplish and although typically worn to bed it is something that can be worn out. Pair with a bandana or a headband to make it even more fashionable.

13. Pigtails

Pigtails aren’t just for little girls. To make yours age appropriate french braid your pigtails. Pull out some pieces to frame your face and viola you have yourself some cut french braids that you can wear all summer long. Plus after taking these out your hair will be beautifully wavy.

14. Milkmaid Braids

Milkmaid braids will have you looking cute and staying cool all summer long. Although it may appear to be complicated what you’ll want to do is braid your hair into two pigtails and then attack them to the crown of your head with bobby pins.

15. High Pony

You can’t go wrong with a high ponytail. It’s a classic for a reason. If you want to make your ponytail to look like you aren’t about to go to the gym add braids going up the side. It’ll be an unexpected addition and make your ponytail look anything from ordinary. Also consider wrapping a strand of hair around the hair tie and stick it with a bobby pin.
