1. All cloth towels

Paper towels are convenient and very wasteful. To become more eco friendly switch over to cloth towels that you wash and reuse will not only save you money, but will reduce the use of paper. If you can, buy the nicer cloth sets that will last you a long time.

2. Be Water Conscience

We are all guilty of this, but to become eco friendly is easy to accomplish because all you literally have to do is become aware of your usage of water. Turn the tap off when you are brushing your teeth, washing your face, or doing a sink full of dishes. It’s so nice to have a long hot shower, but its better on your water bill and the environment to take quicker showers.

3. Reusable Bags

You see them everywhere in the grocery stores and now even cities are starting to charge for bags. Make the switch and get  yourself some reusable bags and get in the habit of having them in your car when you go grocery store. Just make sure the wash everything when you get home.

5. Public Transportation and carpool

This tip is a little more tricky. Some places are not set up for public transportation and sometimes life doesn’t allow carpooling. However, whenever you can, try to use public transportation and carpool with friends to save on gas and lowering your footprint.

6. Go Paperless

This tip to become eco friendly is kind of  a no brainer. Today’s world is set up for most things to be completed electronically. However, whenever you get that option, be aware and click on the paperless instead of wasting paper on something that is on your computer and phone anyways.

7. Using Concentrated Or Ultra Cleaning Products

Instead of buying cleaning supplies in a spray become more eco friendly and purchase cleaning solution that is concentrated. This not only saves you money but will last you longer that the bottle cleaning supplies. Save old spray bottles and mix your cleaning products and make sure to label them again so you don’t forget.

8. No More Plastic Utensils

Just stop. This is the lazy way out and it is so incredibly wasteful. Become more eco friendly and stop buying plastic cutlery, paper plates and bowls, and plastic cups. Have friends bring some if you don’t have enough for a party or go out and buy more dishes. Also, when you order in food make sure they don’t include plastic cutlery. Just stop.

9. Choose Products Carefully

The little micro beads that suppose to get you extra clean are terrible for the environment. They are bits of plastic (do you really want to rub that all over your body anyways?) that are not biodegradable and make their way into the water and soil. When choosing your products, make sure to stay away from the micro beads and try to stay more towards environmentally friendly products.
