Mississippi State has been known by three other names. Its history is full of education, service, and leadership – ideals in which the university prides itself with.

2. Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library

Mississippi State is one of the only universities to house a presidential library. It holds his letters, photographs, and a collection of memorabilia.

If you ever feel like geeking out and studying, there are plenty of libraries for you to choose from.

4. Colvard Student Union

The Union has pretty much anything your stomach could ever desire.

5. The Drill Field

The Drill Field is a place where students go to kick back and relax between classes, and maybe even throw an old pig skin around.

The perfect spot for tailgating!

7. Chapel Of Memories

Attention all MSU lovers! If you do find your soulmate at MSU, the Chapel of Memories is the perfect place for a Bulldog wedding.

8. State Fountain Bakery

State Fountain Bakery is a bakery on campus that serves… you guessed it, Starbucks (and of course bagels and such)!

9. Barnes And Noble

There is a Barnes and Noble right on campus, so books and all your MSU merch can be bought there!

10. Davis Wade Stadium

The stadium is home to the largest big screens in Mississippi. That’s right Ole Miss, our Jumbotron is two inches bigger than yours!

11. The Hump

The Humphrey Coliseum is the largest on-campus basketball arena in the state of Mississippi! This is where our men’s and women’s basketball teams play.

12. Sanderson Center

The Sanderson Center is a complex that hold exercise rooms, basketball and volleyball courts, and even a swimming pool!

13. The Courses Are Hype

There’s even a course on how to play Quidditch. Everyone wants to be a Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, or Hermione Granger, right?

14. The Cotton District

Full of bars, music, art, and fun!

15. Bulldogs Know How To Have Fun!

Before the football games, the players and coaches walk through the crowd to get to the stadium. This is called the Dawg Walk. This is when the crowd gets the players pumped up for the game, and when the football players amp up the crowd! It’s a tradition and is done every game!

16. Cowbells

The cowbell tradition came from when a Jersey cow walked on the field during a game State was losing. The workers had to use cowbells to get the cow off the field. State came back and won the game; thus the cowbell good luck charm began. Now students receive decorated cowbells from their friends and/or family to use during their time at State.

17. Starkville Baseball

The Bulldogs went from squat to hot this season, and they are on fire! They even swept the Starkville Regional!

18. Bulldogs Without Borders

State offers an amazing study abroad program that allows students to travel all over the world!

19. Truman Scholars

State also has a record of 18 Truman Scholars; its latest scholar, Natalie Jones. The Harry S. Truman Scholarship is highly competitive. It grants US college juniors – who display leadership potential and commitment to public service – $30,000 to go toward their graduate education.

20. EcoCAR2

Because who wouldn’t want 55 miles per gallon? Students re engineered the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu to make it more energy efficient. The EcoCAR3 team is also working hard to create and market environmentally friendly vehicles.

21. Maroon Friday

State has a weekday dedicated to the support of the university: Maroon Friday. It’s when the students, and even just fans, wear maroon on Fridays to show their support for the Bulldogs!

Mississippi State University is the best school on Earth because of its dedication to education, leadership, and service. Also, State is dedicated to being the home of a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. State is a great place to choose to go to school. It focuses on all the right things, such as a hands-on education, undergraduate research, and the well being of its students. Hail State!
