1. What Is Your Favorite Nickname?

This question can spark some great conversation with your significant other! They have an opportunity to share their favorite nickname and the story behind it. This is a great way to get a glimpse into their life before you, and you may learn some fun stories along the way!

2. What Is Your Love Language?

If you want to have a healthy relationship, you need to know your partner’s love language. This gives you ideas on how to pour into them and let them know they are important to you. You and your significant other will be challenged to invest in each other’s lives by asking this question.

3. What Are Your Strengths And Weaknesses?

One sign of maturity in a romantic partner is their ability to identify personal strengths and weaknesses. You and your partner need to be honest about your character flaws. This question is a great way to uncover any underlying issues in your partner’s life. If you have been in the relationship for a while, try to identify each other’s strengths and weaknesses. It is easy to criticize yourself. It is harder to criticize a romantic partner. This exercise may be uncomfortable, but it is vital to forming a healthy relationship.

4. What Are Your Expectations For This Relationship?

In any relationship, people need to share their expectations. Does your partner expect you to spend every free minute with them? Do they want an open-ended relationship? Are they ready for a long-term commitment? Don’t be afraid to ask this question, and be honest with your significant other about your expectations.

5. Why Did Your Last Relationship End?

Your partner does not have to share all the intimate details of their previous relationship, but it would be helpful for you to know the cause of the breakup. If they are still talking to their ex or spending time with them, that is a red flag. Your partner should be honest about the level of intimacy they reached with their ex, as well as their expectations for intimacy in your relationship.

If neither of you has been in a relationship, change the question. Ask your partner what their deal breakers are. Knowing their deal breakers will help you determine if the relationship can progress.

6. What Is Your Dream Vacation?

If you and your significant other enjoy traveling, this is a great question to spark conversation! Putting the concerns of money aside, talk about your individual dream vacations. This is another great way to see if you are relationally compatible. If you envision family vacations with the kids and she wants yearly trips to all-inclusive resorts, your dreams might not mesh well. If you both dream about cruising along the European coastline, then you can consider pursuing that dream together.
