Let’s face it: by junior year, the only thing you’re looking forward to is your senior year and graduation. While fun, college is hard work, stressful, and tiring. It’s no wonder so many of us are eager to graduate and get the hell out of here. If you’re anything like me, these are 10 things you definitely won’t miss after graduating college.
When I first started off my freshman year, I was so excited at the prospect of living with a roommate, a built in friend. Fast forward a few years and I’m dying to never have to live with roommates again. Don’t get me wrong, I love living with my best friend, just tired of the extras! I’m over the drama, mess, and annoyance of living with other people.
Yes, we do have better options than just the dining hall, but regardless, I cannot wait until both are a thing of my past! I’m tired of trying to figure out if the dining hall’s food is edible and pretending to like what I’m eating.
If there’s one thing I know about myself, it’s that I absolutely hate studying. I suck at it and somehow no matter how long I stay up at night, I still don’t remember any of the information by the time the test rolls around. So while I may be pulling all-nighters after graduating college, I can sleep soundly knowing they won’t be for any reason related to studying!
Since I moved to a campus apartment I haven’t had to worry about this as much anymore, but freshmen year, I was literally always in trouble with the RA because the girls next door felt I was too loud. It’s my room, I should be able to be as loud as I want without a complaint. But unfortunately, that’s not how life works.
Especially during those classes that provide no PowerPoints, no printouts, no nothing. Trying to write down every single thing that the professor says, just in case it’s on the test – oh yes, this is something I will definitely not miss after graduating college.
You know what I’m talking about – those classes with only two graded assignments, making it completely possible to fail. This is literally my biggest pet peeve! I’m in a class right now where I only have two graded assignments for the class…basically, they make or break me. Here’s to hoping it’s not the latter!
Gen Eds are the bane of my existence! There’s nothing worse than sitting through a US history class with a professor that looks like she helped write the Declaration of Independence, when that’s not even your major. I’m a Criminal Justice major; if I wanted to know about the Boston Tea Party, I would have become a history major!
Especially when you know the professor does not even read them all the way through. I’m also an English major and I actually had a professor admit that he didn’t read my paper completely through but he got the point of it and gave me an A anyway. I’m sorry, WHAT? After I went through all the effort, tears, and coffee to write this paper, you didn’t even read it completely?!
Yes, I’m supposed to know what I’m doing with my life by now. I am a junior, on the track to graduating on time. But ask me if I know yet? The answer is NO! Now, stop asking. I’ll figure it out after graduating college.
Enough said.
