10 of the Best Movies in 2021

Due to the pandemic back in 2020, we were limited to being able to go to the movies and watch some of the best films. But ever since 2021 arrived, the movie industry wasted no time in creating some of the best works of art in movies focusing on action, drama, horror romance, and comedy. Here are 10 of the best movies that were made in 2021.

1. House of Gucci

Talk about a work of art, “The House of Gucci” is an Italian masterpiece that talks about the true story of how the world’s most successful fashion masterpiece made itself known as one of the most successful businesses. This movie includes the best edgy humor, romance, and action where Lady Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani, an outsider who works in a truck transportation business, marries into the Gucci family where her unbridled ambitions begin to ruin the Gucci legacy and creates a reckless spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder.

2. Mortal Kombat

Do not be fooled, as exciting as Mortal Kombat is, this franchise has been around for nearly over 30 years, and it is still to this day considered the best action film sequences. The Mortal Kombat story follows the story of a young martial artist who goes on a quest with other fighters to stop an outworld sorcerer from merging realms to take over the world. But to do this, these young fighters must win 10 straight consecutive rounds in Mortal Kombat. The fate of the world is now in the hands of mortals who must fight to the death.

3. Cruella

We have all heard the phrase “every villain has a beginning”. As crazy as this sounds, it is very true even in Disney shows. The movie “Cruell” played by Emma Stone talks about how the simplest dedicated, kindhearted woman having high hopes about becoming a successful fashion designer, but that all changes when she befriends fashion legend, Baroness von Hellman, this leads her to embrace her wicked side to become the raucous and revenge-bent Cruella. Sometimes the best way to get your inspiration out in the open is by causing some mayhem in the streets to make a name for yourself.

4. Demon Slayer Mugen Train

If there is one thing that I love proving, it is that whole misleading idea that anime is for kids and is not as popular as American films. What a load of crap that is! Even though it is an anime, the series Demon Slayer has been making a series name for itself in the movie industry. No, the series has released the film ” Demon Slayer Mugen Train” where a young boy’s parents are killed and his sister is turned into a demon, a young boy is set out on the Mugen Train to slay as many demons as he can. Demon Slayer’s visually stunning animation and masterful action make it a masterpiece and serve a heartfelt plot that will satisfy fans.

5. The Last Duel

A lot of people may not know it, but historical movies can be the most entertaining and thrilling forms of movies.  the movie “The Last Duel” takes place during the medieval time when countries in Europe were going to war with each other over control of other countries. As gruesome and action-packed as this movie is, the unique feature about this film is that it focuses on topics today that are ignored by our judicial system that is seen as unnecessary, things like feminism and a woman’s rights.

6. Conjuring 3

If you are into getting a good scare, the conjuring 3 is the best movie to make you jump out of your seat. The Conjuring is the best scary movie trilogy that follows famous ghost detectives Ed and Lorraine Warren and their cases on dealing with demonic evil spirits which are all based on true stories by the way. If you ask me, out of all the Conjuring films, the 3rd Conjuring would have had to be the scariest bringing the devil into play that involves the fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before. This film was marked as the first time in U.S. history where a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.

7.  Venom Let There be Carnage

As much as we might love watching the superhero’s always winning, a villain’s storyline can be the most entertaining and stunning. The Venom sequels are based on the Marvel Spiderman series that follows one of Spiderman’s deadliest enemies, venom a man-eating alien symbiote that knows no bounds. But in the film “Venom Let There be Carnage”, pits the deadliest creature against the deadliest enemy. This film is filled with nonstop action and of course, with eating people, you can’t help but say that this movie is nothing but carnage.

8. Candyman

One interesting thing about scary movies is that a majority of the cast or demonic spirits are primarily seen as people of Caucasian descent. The movie “Candyman” is all about showing horror while relating as a figure that is recognizable to the black community. The story of Candyman talks about a slave who was killed and had his arm cut off, but before he died, his body was covered with honey and bees. Now, whenever you say his name five times in a mirror, the last thing you will see is a tall scary figure with a hook for a hand covered with bees. Do you dare say his name 5 times in a mirror!

9. Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry are probably considered to be one of the world’s greatest cartoons television shows nets to the Looney Tunes of course. From classic wacky animation to historical cartoon violence, it is no wonder that this television show got its movie. Now we get to watch these 2 cartoon legends bring their mayhem to New York City.

10.The Matrix Resurrections

At the time, the Matrix trilogy defined sci-fi and action all together in one. “The Matrix Resurrections” is the 4th film of the Matrix franchise. Now I really cannot say a lot about this movie because it has not been released yet, but once it hits the theaters in December, be prepared to take a wild ride through reality and the dream world.

The movie industry has done it by creating some of the best Hollywood blockbusters of the year. What was your favorite movie in 2021? Let me know in the comments section below.
