10 of the Best Hairstyles for Men

As men, we have always been told that we have to dress and look a certain way to maintain a positive image. But whoever said that we should feel obligated to change our hair in the process. Here are 10 of the best hairstyles for men to rock while still being able to maintain that sharp appearance.

1. Braided Manbun

Speaking of a revamped version of braids, the braided man bun is a unique style haircut that incorporates that classic cornrows while giving it some more style with a bun on the end of your hair. What is very special about this haircut in my opinion is that it speaks to more than just one race and gender. The best way to make new hair trends is centering its look on more of a uni-sex and multi-racial audience.

2. Undercut

Short on the sides and long on the top, if you are looking for a hairstyle that is both fashionable and simple, the undercut is the way to go. The style of an undercut works with all types of men’s hair from curly, wavy, and straight hair. You can sculpt the top hair as you see fit, slicking it back or spiking it up or something else in between. If you ask me, most men who rock an undercut look prefer it faded because it gives off a greater sense of uniformity or flow.

3. Buzz Cut

You can already tell by its name that this haircut is exactly what you would imagine. The buzz cut puts the electric buzzer to use by pretty much cutting your hair short on both sides and only leaving a little bit on the top. This haircut primarily reaches those who have a fascination with old and modern popular culture regularly, and will most likely never really go out of style.

4. Short Dreads

If there was a time when short dreads were anything but awesome, we should not be afraid to show it off. Popularized by famous rappers like Playboy Carti and Lil Uzi Vert, this men’s hairstyle requires copious amounts of time and control. If you don’t know what you’re doing, it’s best to put your hair in the hands of a barber. Short dreadlocks are supposedly a new version of the traditional dread look that gives off more style and design. But hey sense where are talking about dreads long dreadlocks are pretty amazing as well.

5. Long Hair

A lot of guys have recently been bringing back some of those haircuts from past generations. This classic 80s style haircut should not stop you from growing out your graceful follicles. If you just so happen to be one of the few who can pull off the long and wavy look, you should do just that while you still have the opportunity. This hairstyle represents the essence of virility and design. It is truly a men’s hairstyle that draws all the right eyeballs in your direction.

6. Side-swipe

The Side-Part hairstyle is what you would call a timeless hairstyle that has been making a name in the men’s fashion industry for over 30 years. For those who come off sporting that casual hipster tone image, the side part of the hair requires a decent amount of length and volume and works best with thick, straight hair. The most quintessential example involves a taper on the sides and longer hair on top. The long bangs are side swept in layers and a simple side part is created. Little maintenance is required for this hairstyle.

7. Slick Back

With its sleek shine, the slicked-back haircut has been a mainstay in the business world and representation of men’s haircuts for decades. From its name, it keeps its sophisticated essence with the utmost classiness of power and professionalism. However, one thing about the slick back haircut is that this hairstyle is all about length and having just the right amount of volume. So if you are all about having that slick look in the front but want to maintain a good amount of hair in the back, just simply pull the back end of your hair up into a ponytail. Slick back look with a ponytail, that sounds like a 2021 fashion trend to look out for.

8. Textured Pompadour

Now, this right here is a men’s haircut that should have gone out of style years ago, but most likely never will. If you also think that it looks ridiculous, just remember that professional soccer player David Beckham is a big influencer on the Pompadour hairstyle.  Similar to an undercut or fade, the men’s pompadour usually includes short hair on the sides and longer hair on top. What sets this hairstyle from others is the healthy volume of swept-up hair at the front, which then is directed towards the back.

9. Cornrows

There is just something about the cornrow that can completely transform the way you look. Your look becomes much edgier when those few braids start running down the back of your head. If you’re not into a full head of cornrows and braids, they can also be put into styles with curls, waves, or a bun. It can take a basic curly hairstyle and upgrade it into an elegant masterpiece. It’s a great look especially if you have an event to go to such as a concert bar or just chilling with the homeboys. The best part about Cornrows is that it helps your natural hair growth.

10. Short Curls

If you are trying to rock your inner afro-centric look but give it a revamped touch, curls are the newest form of bringing out the texture in your hair. As difficult as the process may seem to be to maintain curls, as long as you moisturize and condition weekly, you can have long flowing shiny curls with a perfect way of showing off your hair’s thickness.

Men’s hairstyles have certainly come a long way from having a shaven bald look to rocking long flowing follicles. Which one of their hairstyles do you prefer to rock? Let me know in the comments below.
