You Know You Go To Rowan University When…

All universities are unique in their own ways. However, if you’re a Rowan “PROF” you know what I mean. You can totally relate to these things at least once.

1.) You know all the construction around campus will never be done.

Every semester you return to Rowan you see a building that wasn’t there before. When you look for your classes on your schedule and read a name of a building that you have never heard before you know you’ll be the first class to test it out. Hey who doesn’t like new?

2.) You’re always finding yourself explaining what “PROF” means.

Everyone always asks you “what’s your mascot?” and your answer is “PROFS!” and that is where the conversation ends. It is confusing to the outside world but at Rowan we are always proudly screaming “GO PROFS! GO PROFS!”

3.) You’re always afraid of those skateboards flying by.

As you’re walking to class there is no time to be on your phone you have to protect yourself. Always look left and right, back and fourth because those skateboarders are flying by you 100 m.p.h…. Just kidding but it always sounds like they are coming for you.

4.) You find yourself wearing too much Rowan apparel around campus.

Walking around campus we all have that very similar style. Yup you guessed it! Its the Rowan hoodie. Your Rowan hoodie is always your go to for that 8 a.m…. maybe the 2 p.m. class as well? Or you wear it 24/7 like everyone else on campus. Uhh give us a break we are all tired college students.

5.) You know not to drink the water fountain water.

There’s always the signs in front of the water-fountains. “Testing Do Not Drink!” so you have to walk away. But hey who doesn’t like free Poland Springs delivered to your dorm.

6.) You have to follow people in the parking lot to get a spot.

Hey all of you commuters! This one is for you! We all have to leave an hour earlier to have time to drive around the parking lot to find a spot. Heres a hint for you! Follow people with your car as they’re leaving and take their spot…. Or just park at the VIP spot with those yellow stripes.

7.) You’ve experienced all four seasons in one day.

Before you walk in to your 8 a.m. its freezing. Walking out its Spring. By the time you get to class its already Summer. Make sure you’re prepared!

8.) Rain boots have become a must have accessory.

Rain boots are the fashion must have in college. Walking from class to class you tend to cross some lakes…. so if you don’t want to be dumping water out of your sneakers in class I suggest you invest in a pair.

9.) You ask if you can use “Boro Bucks.”

Do you accept “Boro Bucks?” is the number one question on campus. But then you find yourself going home for Winter break and you’re asking your local stores… and then you get the look.

10.) You know what RAH stands for.

Thursday! Friday! Saturday! What are those nights for? You guessed it! RAH! All week long you’re packed with homework but Thursday night is when the weekend starts at RAH! Rowan After Hours is when you get to chill with your friends and have fun.

If you go to Rowan University you know exactly what I’m talking about. I’m sure we are not the only school that can relate.
