While a lot of the first day is about figuring out your new path around the school, going over syllabi, and catching up with your friends, it is also a little bit about what you wear. You will be seeing everyone for the first time in three months. It could even be the first time ever if you are going to a new school. Therefore, you have to make a great impression. You can remind everyone how amazing you look, or introduce people to your amazingness. Whatever the reason, your first day of school outfit is important. It will help set the tone for the rest of the year and show what your aesthetic for the year. You should absolutely plan out what you are going to wear. This can be a tough decision, as the first day only comes once a year, so you should do it right. Here are some outfit pieces that will make sure you look beautiful on the first day. You wouldn’t wear all of them on the first day, but they should help give an idea of your outfits that this is the best first day ever.

1. Ruffled Plaid

Most school uniforms follow a specific pattern, there are the high collar white button downs and the plaid skirt. These outfits probably seem boring and uncomfortable. However, in the right hands, they can be very fashionable. Even if you are not at a school that requires a school uniform, you can wear these clothing items, and you can have some fun with it. This plaid skirt is not your average uniform look. It comes in fun shades of yellow, black and white. It is a combination of neutrals with a nice pop of color. This is also more of a mini skirt than most uniform skirts, which helps give it an edge. Then there is the cute cut of the skirt. It has a smocked waist with a bit of a ruffle at the bottom. It is more than a plain old straight down skirt. This is a plaid skirt that has character. Wear it with a black or white skirt and this skirt will be the star of your first day of school. This is the quintessential school skirt, but with an attitude.

2. Patterned Blouse

The first day of school is when you show how fashionable you can be. You bring your nicest clothes out to show or remind people just how great you look. There is no shame in going laid-back but it is always more fun to go stylish, as that will help you look your best. Pick clothing that will help you stand out and separate you from the crowd. This shirt is able to accomplish that job. This blouse has the boho chic look down. It comes in many different shades of blue, from really dark to really light. There are a variety of different intricate patterns in many lines across this blouse. The shirt is a little oversized with large and flowy sleeves. The bottom of the front of the shirt has a tie detail, where you tie two pieces of fabric together to create a stylish little knot. Every part of this shirt is special and vibrant which will definitely show that you have a sense of fashion. Wear this with dark and subtle bottoms so the blouse can be the star of the show. All eyes will be on you, like you are  a model whose catwalk is a school hallway.

3. Little Black Dress

Remember that plain does not always have to mean boring. It just means that it has a classic style that will make you look mature. However, you can make something plain a little more exciting if you want. Take for example, the little black dress. This is a dress that has been around for decades and has looked the same for a long time. That dress still looks great, but it can be elevated just a little. That is where it comes in. It is still just a black dress, no other colors or patterns. It is the style of the dress that makes it unique. There is a little hole on the front that is not too big to be inappropriate, but enough to be stylish. There are billowy peasant sleeves that look exciting with the smocked top, and the flowy skirt is made out of a similar material. This is a little black dress for the modern age. If you want to look sophisticated and mature on your first day, this is the way to do it. Add some colorful accessories, and you will have a fashionable outfit that could be for school or the runway.

4. Pink Diamonds

It is still technically summer, which means it is the time of year to shine bright. Every look should have a pop of color so that even a serious outfit can have some fun. The first day of school is about a thrilling new time, so you should have a thrilling outfit that makes you a star. These shorts are a big step towards that electrifying outfit. They are in a corduroy fabric that has just the right amount of softness. These shorts come in a shade of bright pink that have the right amount of shock factor. There is a light diamond pattern that is a little subtle but still aesthetically pleasing. They are short enough so that they are youthful but not too short for that pesky dress code. Wear a neutral color on top so that these shorts will have even more of a pop. Bright colors are always a fun choice, so on your first day of school, shine bright.

5. Ripped Skinny Jeans

Sometimes a casual outfit can still make you look like a million bucks. These casual styles can help show that you are relaxed and ready for whatever the first day throws your way. There is some style in simplicity. That is the beauty in jeans. Jeans are a pair of pants that can always help you look superb and will go with practically any shirt. They are reliable on their own, and these jeans will help push you over the top. They come in the normal light blue color that you find jeans in which are always pretty. This is a skinny cut which will help accentuate your body to help you look amazing, but in a way that is not uncomfortably tight. There are also some intentional rips in these pants to show that you are not someone who is always buttoned up. There are only a few rips, nothing too big and not too much exposure. They show that you may be ready to learn, but you still have a bit of an attitude. So if it’s not too hot out, rock these skinny jeans on your first day to show that being relaxed can have its style.

Or maybe you don’t have a specific reason for a belt, you just want to add a little something extra. These are all important goals and you need the right belt to accomplish these goals. This is the belt that will help you out. It comes in white, which even though it is a neutral, it can look bright on the right outfit. The buckle is where this belt gets some sparkle. The buckle is a shiny silver butterfly which makes this belt cute and fun. It can make your outfit more interesting with that pop of sparkle. On your first day of school, go a little crazy and wear a belt that will help give your outfit the old razzle dazzle.

8. Espadrille Sneakers

When you are walking down your school hallways on your first day, you should be able to walk in style. Shoes can help tie an outfit together and are the finishing piece. Even though your eyes may not directly go to your feet, shoes are still an important edition. You also have to make sure that you are comfortable. No matter how many classes you have, you are probably going to be walking around a lot. So you need a pair of shoes that are a blend of comfort and cuteness. This is the pair that you have been looking for. These come in a sneaker style, which is what helps make them practical for walking. Then there is the style part. These shoes come in a pretty shade of light blue, almost looking like they are made out of denim. They also have an espadrille bottom in a braided tan, bringing you a couple inches away from the floor. So you can still have high heels and be able to stand tall, but they are not too thin so that you trip and fall. You will be able to wear gorgeous sneakers that give you no trouble walking around. So strut your stuff as you head to your new classes.
