What Does Your Moon Sign Say About You?

You’re probably already familiar with your Sun sign. In astrology, your Sun sign describes the soul and the developing self. While this is the focus of horoscopes and the center of birth chart readings, it is only one piece of the puzzle. In fact, to understand the very basis of your astrological chart, it is essential to be familiar with your Sun sign, Moon sign, and Ascendant, which can all be calculated using sites such as Cafe Astrology. Your Moon sign is a key component as it represents the brain and the emotional self. As a result, it provides massive insight into the way you think and responds to emotional situations. So what does your Moon sign say about your mind and emotional sphere and what piece of yourself is explained by your placement?

Aries Moon

The Aries moon screams confidence. In stressful and emotional situations, you are astrong-willedd, fast responder that will often carry the responsibilities of an entire group on your shoulders. You are usually a leader in one or more areas of your life because you firmly believe that you are the one that will best accomplish any given goal. On the downside, you can be impatient and you refuse to be controlled, making you distrustful of others’ advice. The Aries moon sign is known for its widely respected leaders and risk takers, however, you may find that slowing down and taking the time to listen to others’ experiences will enrich your life even more.

Taurus Moon

The moon is exalted in Taurus, which means that it’s in its ideal placement and at its highest energy potential. Taurus moons are the least emotional and the least moody of all of the moon signs. This makes you the most dependable. More so than any other Moon sign, you require security through tangible materials, such as a constant influx of food and a reliable source of income to feel safe and happy. This means that you also attract a wealth of materials into your life. Taurus moons are often wonderful home decorators and you feel at your best when your surroundings and belongings reflect beauty.

Gemini Moon

Gemini moons are generally intelligent, quick thinkers with racing minds and non-stop ideas. You need conversation and intellectual stimulation to be emotionally fulfilled, however you usually focus on the number of stimuli rather than the depth of their sources. Lunar Geminis do not generally like emotionally charged situations and in groups of people, you are an optimist seeking to lighten every situation. Sometimes your mind can be too loud even for yourself. In these moments, you are at your happiest listening to loud music to overpower your whirring thoughts.

Cancer Moon

With this moon placement, emotions are internally amplified. Cancer moons are extremely caring and sensitive, however, you often bottle up your feelings and refuse to show your deep emotions to the world. You are kind and selfless but you may find that you give too much of yourself to others without enough in return. Over time, you have built up walls in order to guard yourself. This is because you are waiting for someone who will truly reciprocate all of the love and nourishment you have to offer.

Leo Moon

Lunar Leos gravitate towards the limelight. You know your worth and refuse to accept anything less. You also have a tendency to idealize your partners, but since no one is perfect it is only a matter of time before this image comes crashing down. While this can create some emotional scars, Leo moons are never down for long. You will always hold your heads high and move forward with grace. You are gregarious and flashy and you know how to sell yourself in all areas of your life.

Virgo Moon

Virgo moons are far from moody. You are rational with your emotions and when it comes to dealing with another’s feelings, you believe in action over  padding and pampering . The Virgo moon is unafraid to voice the good the bad and the ugly and this makes you a stellar honest friend. You do not tend to appreciate public displays of affection and routine and organization are key for your everyday happiness and sanity.

Libra Moon

Libra moons are all about emotional balance. You need harmonious give and take in your relationships, and though you tend to think more than feel, you are not overly analytical and you appreciate beauty for what it is. You have a natural activist nature and you love to be involved in politics and any realm in which you believe you are achieving justice. Lunar Libras love to be mediators and are often highly valued in their friend groups for this reason.

Scorpio Moon

The Scorpio moon has deep and hidden desires often invisible to the rest of the world. Devoted to those you love, you are highly protective and this can often be misconstrued as jealousy. You tend to be in love affairs that take off quickly and passionately and you love feeling attractive and attracted to others. This can be off putting if others do not understand your highly emotional nature.
