Ways To Make Your Vision Board A Part Of Your Decor

5 Ways To Make Your Vision Board Part of Your Decor

As you’ve probably heard by now, using a vision board is the next cool thing. Nowadays, people everywhere use them to manifest their dream lives and remind them what they’re working so damn hard for anyway. Personally, I’ve always been a fan of vision boards. Still, when I learned how to incorporate them into my decor, I was in heaven.

1. Statement Wall

If you have a blank wall in your space, create a vision board on it! This can become any “style” you’d like to go along with your decor. If you love an all-white room with minimal designs, look for images that can capture your style’s simplicity while also expressing your dream life. (Remember: You can edit photos to make the color fit your color scheme too). I suggest saving tons of pictures, even if you would rather keep your vision board smaller and more spaced out. This gives you the option to go back and pick your favorites flowing together with the rest. If your style is more neon lights, pink couches, and star highlights, I’d suggest going for a full wall vision board. This is my personal favorite style and what I have in my room as well. When you use an entire wall for this, you have more room to incorporate everything you dream of. Plus, you’ll have fun planning out what photo goes where to get the perfect vibe for your taste. I’ve seen people do a color gradient of images, use all black with neon photos, or even just throw the photos up without a thought, and they all look fantastic. The most important thing to remember with a vision board statement wall is that it will look incredible if it embodies who YOU are.

2. Desk Backdrop

I try to keep the look a little bit more simple in my apartment, so a statement wall isn’t really in the cards for me. It would ruin my aesthetic. Knowing this, I was determined to find a way to incorporate my vision board so that my dreams still felt like they’re at my fingertips. One day, I came across a photo on Instagram where someone used the wall behind their desk (or if their desk had a base to it that stood on top) to make a vision board. This way, you’ll have the perfect reminder of what you’re working for when you sit and do work. It’s also a way to make your desk look way cooler than it did before. Now, your desk will become a statement piece of your decor too. Let me tell you, this trick also totally boosts your motivation to sit at your desk. Sometimes I just like to sit and look at mine.

3. Clothing Racks

Fill up blank space in your room with things you love! I used the example of Clothing racks because I personally think they totally add something special to a room. When you get your clothing rack, place pieces on it that you think are trendy for the season or new clothes you can’t wait to finally wear. Just be careful not to make your clothing rack too cluttered because if it gets too messy, your room will look messy too. The more basic you keep it, the better. If you’re not big into fashion or the idea of a clothing rack, pick something special to you. If you dream of working at a fashion magazine, buying prints of magazine covers to hang on your wall can be a huge inspiration and a super chic look. If you’re a competitive sports player, add a shelf to your wall.hold your trophies. You should be proud of them and show them off. Plus, they’ll be a huge motivation the night before a game.

4. Mirror Affirmations

This tip is one of my personal favorites! Mirror Affirmations are a huge style trend, super picture-worthy, and ACTUALLY make a huge difference in your self-esteem. If you have a big mirror in your space, use a dry erase marker, lipstick, or colored glass markers to write some daily reminders to yourself. Some examples include “You are beautiful,” “You are strong,” “I am powerful,” “I am making a difference,” etc. You can totally personalize this to your needs and your style. Have fun with it and make it look cute and feel important. Obviously, you don’t want to fill up your whole mirror. Otherwise, your selfies won’t be as easy to show off your new outfit. But putting some affirmations in the corners and down the sides can really add something new to your plain mirror. When you go to look into your mirror after, try and repeat these mantras to yourself a few times. Watch how over the next few days, you start to believe them more and more. Mirrors can warp our perception of ourselves sometimes, but this is your opportunity to take that power back and love what you see looking back at you.

5. Phone, Laptop, & Notebook Cover

If adding your vision board to your room decor isn’t really your style, try adding a cool wallpaper to your phone or laptop. If you have a journal you write in every day, take some time to decorate the cover of it with photos of your dream life or just photos that make you smile. Sometimes all we need to remind ourselves of who we want to become or what we’re working towards is a little reminder. However, you choose to integrate your vision board is amazing! Remember, the only important thing is that it inspires you. Plus, it can be really fun to spend some time creating a custom wallpaper for yourself. I’m sure many of you have already seen that the new IOS14 update for apple products allows you much more freedom in customizing your viewing experience. There is a reason that this has been a huge topic of discussion on social media because it makes people feel put together and motivated. Honestly, it’s a lot of work to upgrade your phone to look as cool as I’ve seen it done on Instagram, but it does make a difference in how you feel! I spent four hours the other day updating my app covers, home screen, and adding some cool widgets, but the work was so worth it.
