10 Water Bottles You Will Want To Refill

Water bottles aren’t just great for the environment, but they are also great for your wallet. I’m not an expert on water bottles. However, I have seen my fair share of both bad and good ones. I’ve had stainless steal water bottles which weren’t quite stainless, glass water bottles with caps that made my water taste metallic and of course, plastic water bottles, which didn’t close properly. Paying just a few extra pounds for a water bottle definitely pays off in the long run. People tend to be very particular about their water bottles and it’s understandable – it’s something you’ll use everyday.

This list will provide you with some great options which you could consider for your next water bottle.

1. Black+Blum Insulated Water Bottle

This is a sleek vacuum sealed bottle which can keep your drinks ice cold for 24hours or hot for 12 hours. Vacuum insulation means that it won’t sweat when it’s filled with cold drinks, so you don’t have to worry about getting anything in your bag wet, there’s not going to be any condensation on the outside of this bottle.

It has a stainless steel top, which will last for a long time! The top is also attached to the bottle with an artificial leather strap, so you don’t have to worry about loosing it. This is something you won’t get with most water bottles.

This bottle has a wide spout, which means that it’s easy to fill with ice cubes and clean it.

2. Klean Kanteen

Stainless steal is popular with water bottles and this one has an 18/8 Stainless Steal construction. It also has vacuum insulation and will keep your drinks hot for 20 hours and iced for 50 hours. That’s a long time!

Klean Kanteen claim that their powder coat finish is not only more durable than their previous one, but it’s formulated with the health of humans and the environment.

You can get the bottle with a sports cap and with a plastic-free bamboo cap (which is pretty cool). It’s leak proof, easy to clean, BPA free and chip resistant.

3. Hip Bottle

If you are looking for something more lightweight, try out Hip. The design is reminiscent of a hip flask. It has a slim shape and a twist-top cap which promises leak-proof carrying.

By the way it looks you may think that it’s a glass bottle, but it’s actually made from plastic. The plastic is BPA and BPS Free and it’s said to fit perfectly in the car door pockets. Which is a characteristic that not many water bottles have.

It has a soft strap and a leak-proof hard cap. There is a silicone carrying  loop for carrying and attaching to bags, belts and backpacks.

Hip also work with Healthy Harbor. For every bottle sold, they fund the removal of 4 single-use plastic bottle from local waterways. You can read more about it here

4. Frank Green

This bottle seems a bit different from other water bottles. Frank Green make cups and bottles. Their design is curved to fit comfortably in the hand. These water bottles are special for the fact that they incorporate innovative technology into their design.

The bottles are made from eco-friendly materials and are BPA-free, with a spill-proof lid and a non-slip grip. Not only that, but they’ve incorporated CaféPay technology into their cups and bottles. So you can pay for your coffee (or other beverage) and get loyalty rewards by tapping the lid at participating cafés. The bottle also comes with a Hydrate app which calculates all the single-use bottles you are saving from landfill and measures how much you drink each day to ensure you’re staying hydrated.

5. Memobottle

You don’t see flat water bottles every day. That’s exactly why memobottle chose the design of their bottles. It’s a water bottle designed to fit where other water bottles don’t. It can fit in your bag alongside your laptop or notebooks. Not only that, but the flatness of the bottle seems to be a conversation starter the company anticipated. They aim to change the way we think about water consumption, single use plastic bottles and our impact on the environment. And having a flat water bottle definitely starts a conversation.

Memobottle is part of the B Corp movement. B Corporations are businesses which are dedicated to using the power of business to create a positive impact on the world.

Every memobottle sold provides 1 person with 2 months of clean drinking water. That’s pretty cool. They also provide interesting accessories for their bottles such as a beautiful leather sleeve.

Another great water bottle. Especially designed for urban living. This water bottle has a satin finish and it comes in plenty of colours. Just like other high quality stainless steel water bottles it is made with 18/8 food grade stainless steel. It’s BPA free, phthalates free, toxins free. It doesn’t retain or impact the flavour.

The lead needs only one twist to open and it is leak proof. The bottle has a wide mouth so you can clean it easily and fill it with ice.

7. Chilly’s Bottles

Chilly’s are definitely some of the most beautiful water bottles out there. They come in many designs and you can buy extra caps for accessorising. It’s not just their beautiful designs that make them some of the mot popular water bottles out there. It is their quality that keeps them up there.

Chilly’s bottles keep your drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours. They are leak proof and sweat free. So they won’t be damaging anything in your bag. They are constructed from durable high-grade 304 stainless steel, for both the inside and outside walls. This preserves the flavour and freshness of your drink, without any tainting.

8. Lifefactory

Glass water bottles are really popular, but it’s hard to find a good one. They are often really fragile or come with low-quality lids.

Lifefactory is one of the top notch glass water bottles out there. This particular model comes with their classic cap. It’s  a simple screw cap, which does its job. The handle can be clipped to bags. There is no leaching from plastics or metals, so you don’t have to worry about a metallic taste with this one. It has a wide mouth for, you guessed it, ice cubes and cleaning. It has a protective silicone sleeve, which helps with the grip. And it’s dishwasher safe!

9. Origin Glass Co

Not that we’ve started talking about glass water bottles, we can’t skip the Origin bottles. They have a variety of designs, this is the narrow mouth bottle, but they also offer a wide mouth if you really have to put ice cubes in your bottle.

It’s BPA, BPS, PVC, Lead and Cadmium free, so it’s safe and won’t leach chemicals into your water. They use medical grade glass, which expands and contracts a little bit in extreme temperatures to prevent cracks in extreme hot or cold (you probably won’t notice it though). The bottles are dishwasher safe, but the bamboo lids should be hand washed only. The silicone sleeve should keep your bottle safe from tips and short falls. It will also help your grip.

10. Hydro Flask

This bottle has an insulation that eliminates condensation and keeps your drinks cold for up to 24 hours and hot for up to 12 hours. Again, we see an 18/8 stainless steel construction, which is BPA-Free and Phthalate-Free. You can get it with a standard cap or a sports cap. And it has lifetime warranty. It’s a great middle-of-the-road size bottle.
