15 Vintage Fashion Pieces For Your Wardrobe

Within this past year, vintage fashion has been coming back around – and for good reason! Vintage clothing adds an air of timelessness to an outfit when done right. Many consider vintage clothing pieces to be at least 20 years old and beyond. Many of the styles on this list mimic the vintage fashion style of decades before. Check out our picks of 15 vintage pieces you may want to add to your wishlist!

1. Revice Venus Flares

Flare pants were a fashion staple throughout the mid-60s and 70s, worn frequently by singers like Cher and bands like ABBA as well as many different artists alike. Flare pants have come back into style in recent years, and these Revice Venus Flares are a gorgeous vintage fashion necessity to add to your closet! The pants are high-waisted which will accentuate your curves when you put them on. Donned with a unique dark denim star on the back and two lines going down the front, these jeans are anything but ordinary, and they’re a great way to give you that vintage feel.

2. Utility Denim Long Overall

Dating back to the 1700s, overalls were originally made for factory workers. Overalls spiked in popularity for casual wear around the 1980s, with celebrities such as Princess Diana wearing them out and about. Overalls are still a very popular fashion trend that can add an air of vintage flair to your look, and these Utility Denim Long Overalls fit the description perfectly. You can get these overalls in a light blue color, darker denim, or black.

3. Vintage Red Pockets Button Print Fall Long Sleeve Coat

Need a vintage coat for your collection? Try this Vintage Red Pockets Coat! The coat has corduroy pockets along with sew-on prints along the fabric, creating an atmospheric yet timeless look. The faded design of the coat also adds a thrifty air to the overall look it encapsulates. This piece is original, and you won’t find a design like this anywhere else.

4. Velvet Festival Top With Bell Sleeves

If you’re a huge Stevie Nicks fan like me, you may notice that a lot of her fashion throughout the 1970s consisted of flowy shirts with bell sleeves. To get into your Stevie Nicks element, try this Velvet Festival Top With Bell Sleeves. While labeled as a ‘festival top,’ you can rock this top anywhere at any time. Match the top with flare jeans to really go for that full vintage look. The velvet look of the top is guaranteed to make it soft and comfortable.

5. Laurs Platform Patent Oxfords

Typically worn for fancy occasions, oxford shoes date way back to medieval times, often worn by scholars. The shoes skyrocketed in popularity around the 1920s, and their influence hasn’t faded since then. These Platform Oxfords are a great vintage fashion staple to add to your shoe collection. They go with virtually any outfit. You don’t have to wear the shoes on a fancy outing – add them to your daily fashion routine to get the most out of them!

6. Hemlock Bandana

My favorite thing about bandanas is the versatility they provide in the sense that you can style them around your head, neck, wrist… The list goes on and on! Bandanas have been around forever, but they were made popular in the 1950s when presidential slogans were printed on them (and, of course, we can’t forget the popular Rosie the Riveter posters that came about beforehand in WWII). Bandanas were also used as symbols for the LGBTQ+ community in the 1970s as well as symbols for prominent gangs in the 1980s. Nowadays, bandanas are a great fashion staple for any person, and this Hemlock Bandana is guaranteed to give you a vintage feel for any outfit.

7. Daiki Chiffon Straight Shorts

First invented in the mid-19th century, chiffon is a delicate style of fabric made to represent a softer form of femininity. The chiffon style of these long Straight Shorts gives off a 50s vibe of elegance. These shorts come in a variety of different colors, so choose the style that best suits you! The shorts go great with a silky top or collared shirt.

8. Loxley Cropped Blouse

Crop tops became a widely popular fashion staple in the 1980s, with singers like Madonna wearing them in music videos. However, crop tops really skyrocketed in the 90s with trendy popstars and groups like Britney Spears and Destiny’s Child wearing them to music events. Crop tops are still a popular style of clothing, and this Loxley Cropped Blouse in particular gives off the vintage crop vibe with a lacey design and exaggerated sleeves.

9. Autumn Elegant Women’s 2-Piece

Women’s suits were originally designed in the 1660s for horseback riding to provide extra comfort. Women’s suits with a long skirt and button-up jacket were made commercially popular in the 1914s as a symbol of power and success for women’s emancipation. This vintage Elegant Women’s 2-Piece outfit calls back to that time period with the long skirt style paired with a matching short jacket. The suit boasts a gorgeous leafy-green color and buttons on the sleeve.

10. Reebok Classic Club C Vintage Sneakers

Looking for a more casual vintage look? Reeboks are the way to go. Reebok shoes spiked in popularity during the mid-1980s as a forthcoming athletic shoe during the decade of increased physical exercise. The shoes were featured in the classic movie Aliens as well, with the main character sporting what is now known as “Alien Stompers.” Later on, the brand would go on to have several ambassadors, from Shaquille O’Neal to Jay-Z. Snag these Reebok Classics for those more casual days where you still want to have that vintage feel.

These earrings can be worn on any occasion and offer that extra push of vintage elegance your outfit needs.

12. Floral Print Midi Skirt

Midi skirts have gone in and out of the fashion world for a while. The long skirts, often flowing below the knee, became popular in the 1940s during the age of elegance. When mini skirts became a more progressive fashion staple in the 60s, midi skirts began to fade out. However, midi skirts are still a unique piece that can be worn with boots and a fitted shirt, or really any way you choose to style it! This Floral Print Midi Skirt is a great example of that gorgeous vintage style.

13. Classic Round Sunglasses

If you know anything about round sunglasses, you know that John Lennon is the key face to this design. During the 80s John Lennon had his staple pair of orange sunglasses that he could be seen wearing on a daily basis. Round sunglasses are a great vintage piece to add to any outfit, no matter what color or size you decide to get! Check out these Classic Round Sunglasses as a starting part to the design.

14. Vintage Corduroy Straight Pants

The corduroy style was a popular fabric encompassed in a variety of different clothing in the 1970s. Corduroys were often worn as a symbol for anti-establishment by musicians, directors, artists, and so-forth. The influential design continued to grow and expand among pants, dresses, skirts… Really, any type of fabric. Corduroy pants are a particular fashion staple that have come back onto the scene, and these Vintage Corduroy Straight Pants are the perfect representation of that.

15. Casual Print Cardigan Collar Outerwear

A popular fashion piece in the 1930s, cardigans were often worn as an academic symbol by college men, later picked up by women as well. Cardigans became significantly popular in the 1990s by the Riot Grrrl feminist movement which emphasized women’s equality and the growing movement of women in the punk scene. Nowadays, cardigans are still a popular and comfortable style, and this Casual Print Cardigan will provide you with that vintage edge with the wide-sleeve look and cropped style.
