Ohio University’s festivities bring thousands of visitors from varying states, just so that they can get a taste of this well-known celebration. Yes. Everyone wears costumes. They wear them to bars, house parties, etc. Don’t be shy!
Where does everyone party for Halloween at Ohio University?
Students party at the bars as well as house parties. Mill Street (the party street, basically) is packed with house parties. So is High Street.
Which nights do students go out for Halloween at Ohio University?
Friday
Students go out Friday night, some with costumes, some without them!
Saturday
The Athens Block Party is Saturday, this is the main day where students wear costumes.
Sunday
Sunday is the day of recovery. You won’t see anyone on the streets until evening.

No matter if your friends go to OU or not, having them by your side will maximize the fun. However, it is important to remember that only one friend is permitted to come visit during HallOUween weekend. Each guest costs $50 (only if you’re still living in the dorms, though) and must be wearing a wristband. If this friend does get in trouble, you get in trouble as well, so pick your guests wisely!

Who could forget about the best part of Halloween, dressing up! There will be people in Athens that will be wearing insane costumes, but there will also be a lot of people in homemade costumes; so don’t sweat it! Your costume doesn’t always have to take months of planning for it to be a good one. The safest idea is to get a group of people and all be one thing. This will make your Halloween so Instagram-worthy, you won’t even believe it.
Make sure to be safe and avoid suspicious clowns.
Being safe during this weekend where Athens will be jam-packed will be the best thing to happen to you. Follow all the rules and be nice to the cops. It is especially easy to get in trouble on Halloween weekend because of the increase in security. Make sure you stay in groups because finding yourself without your friends in a big crowd of people can be overwhelming.
Pro tip: Don’t forget to hydrate and eat! Nothing can kill the vibes more like dehydration.
