The Best Outfits Worn By Blair on Gossip Girl

During the six year run of Gossip Girl, main character Blair Waldorf wore so many amazing outfits. In a show that revolved around the world of fashion and what you wore, there were so many fashionable characters, including Serena and Jenny, but Blair’s preppy rich girl fashion arguably made her the most fashionable character on Gossip Girl. In celebration of Blair and her amazing fashion choices and outfits, we have compiled a list of her top 10 outfits from Episode 1 in 2007 to the finale in 2012.

1. Blair’s School Uniform

For the first two seasons of Gossip Girl, Blair’s school uniform was the her trademark style, personifying her preppy style but also establishing her role as Queen Bee (or Queen ‘B’) through the way her fellow classmates emulated it. Her style consisted of a girly yet sophisticated uniform, usually paired with pearls and a trademark headband.

2. Vine Embroidered Gown

This beautiful white gown embroidered with winding green leaves and vines is absolutely beautiful and definitely a show stopper. Blair’s pairing of a simplistic hairstyle and minimalist jewellery really brings out the beauty in the dress. When you are going to confess your love to someone, like Blair is doing to Dan in this scene, could you really wear a better outfit?

3. Parisian Sundress

When Blair is on a massive shopping spree in Paris after her break up with long-term boyfriend, Chuck Bass, Blair wears this gorgeous get up to browse through the Parisian boutiques and designer shops. The peach coloured tulle sundress with pink and blue flowers paired with bright orange accessories and pearl choker is a soft and girly look perfect for shopping on a hot day in Paris.

4. Oscar de la Renta Gown

One episode later, still in Paris, Blair is invited to a Gala hosted by the French Royal Family, in which she is the date for Prince Louis, the heir to the French throne. When attending such a high-status event, you must dress to impress, and that is exactly what Blair did. The bright red Oscar de la Renta gown paired with a red and orange diamond necklace is one of the most stunning things we have seen Blair wear.

5. Blue and Orange Dress

In season one, Blair and Serena stole Blair’s mother’s designs for a spontaneous fashion photo shoot around the streets of New York. These matching low back dresses, which were bold colours and featuring contrasting coloured belts, are absolutely gorgeous, are perfect as a fun Summer dress and fit perfectly into Blair’s preppy style.

6. Floral Embellished Dress

When Blair throws a party, she goes all out; in decorations, in food, in entertainment, and of course in what she is wearing! This Heavily embellished cocktail dress with tulle flowers and sleeves is a definite show stopper and proves that the hostess should always be the best dressed.

7. Short Work Outfit

While at her internship with E Magazine, Blair wears many outfits that we wish we could think of and afford to wear to our place of work! Of the many she wore at E Magazine, this combination of bold pink shorts and bold black tights with a soft and feminine floral shirt and pearl beaded cardigan is definitely our favourite – and it also proves that Blair can pull off the preppy look years after graduating high school.

8. 1920’s Inspired Gown

When going to a high-status event, there is no better choice than to go for a 1920s inspired gown like Blair did for this gala. The soft silhouette and colour of this dress paired with the silver beading and soft curls is a definite winner for us!

9. Bright Sundress

When walking around New York in the hot summer, there is nothing better to wear than a short, light and breezy sundress that compliments the colours of the fashion season – and of course, Blair Waldorf knew this! This pink, yellow and orange sundress that Blair wore around the campus of Columbia University is our favourite of Blair’s summer looks.

10. Blair’s Wedding Dress

This list would not be complete without Blair’s wedding dress worn during the finale of Gossip Girl and designed by Elie Saab. This un-traditional Bridal gown, made of blue beading and floral embroidery, is definitely Blair’s style. Not only is it feminine and sophisticated, but the non-mainstream take on her wedding dress mirrors Blair’s relationship to Chuck over the run of Gossip Girl, which was anything but mainstream.
