Healthy Breakfast Recipes To Kick-Start Your Day

The most important meal of the day but so easy to skip! Breakfast doesn’t need to be a chore, it should be something that’s enjoyable to fuel your day ahead. If you’re going to the gym on a regular basis, your body needs to right balance of nutrition to be able to perform at your best, and even if you don’t work out so much, you still want to get a good balance so you don’t get any sugar or carb crashes throughout the day. Here’s some healthy breakfast recipes you can make:

1. Eggs On Toast

It sounds simple but it’s a great way to start your day! And yes, we do also recommend adding avocado. You need to use wholemeal bread as it takes longer to digest and therefore makes you feel fully for longer, and you should either poach or boil your eggs, as this cuts down unnecessary calories added by frying or scrambling them. Find the full recipe here.

3. Baked Eggs (Shakshuka)

A Middle-Eastern special, this can be either breakfast, lunch, or dinner! It’s a very versatile dish, and you can make the sauce the night before then heat it up in the morning and add your eggs. You won’t feel the need to snack after you’ve eaten this in the morning. You can adapt the recipe to your preferences and even add chickpeas or kidney beans to it, see what you prefer!

3. Porridge

Porridge, also known as oatmeal, has become more and more popular over the years as people have started to pimp up this grain. Oats give slow release energy so you won’t feel sluggish with a bowl of them in the morning. There’s many ways to make it truly delicious and you can find some ideas here to inspire you.

4. Breakfast Smoothie

For those of you who prefer an on-the-go breakfast, a smoothie is the best way forward. You can add as much fruit and greens as you like to a smoothie and you can adjust the flavour however you like. It’s also great to add protein powder to it for an extra boost, and you can find inspiration here.
