5 Cruelty Free Brands To Try This Year

Cruelty free makeup is getting more popular these days. Why? As veganism and vegetarianism is gaining popularity, ethical issues regarding animal cruelty are coming to the forefront and people are now questioning the ingredients and the process their products have been thorough. An important note that not many people know is that a brand can be cruelty free when it does not test its products on animals ANYWHERE. There are so many companies that are ‘cruelty free’ in Europe and America, but actually they are not because they allow animal testing in China (*cough* Smashbox *cough*). How can a brand say it’s cruelty free when they allow animal testing in another country? Anyway, this list is about 5 legit cruelty free brands you should try this year!

Tarte cosmetics.

Tarte cosmetics is well known now in the makeup world for its palettes and foundations. They do not test on animals, are free from toxic chemicals and their products are actually long lasting! Who would have thought that natural and long lasting would go hand in hand?!

Urban Decay.

Urban Decay is another classic staple in our makeup bags! But not a lot of people know that it’s a cruelty free brand! Their products are top quality and ethically made! Everyone loves their concealers and their NAKED Palettes!

NYX Cosmetics.

NYX is a drugstore brand here in the UK, as you can certainly find their products at Boots! Have you tried the NYX Lingerie liquid lipsticks?! Or their colour correcting concealer palette? Or their lip liners?! Again, cruelty free makeup, without toxins but at a reasonable price!

Kat Von D.

Kat Von D is famous for her luxury makeup! You can never go wrong with any product by this brand. As a vegan and animal activist herself, Kat Von D creates products that are free of animal-derived ingredients while their performance is impeccable! I’m sure you’ll have heard at least one of her products if you go through her website!

Too Faced.

Too Faced, in my opinion, is not that popular but it is a brand that is slowly coming up! They recently launched a range called Peaches and Cream exclusively at Sephora! Many beauty gurus on Youtube said that the palettes were powdery but I do believe in their ethics and that they actually have a few good products! Besides, who doesn’t love the smell of peach!
