Top 10 Places To Eat Near Clemson

The Clemson area has so many good food options; you just need to know the best places to go. From barbecue to classic diner food, there’s plenty to never be bored. Keep reading for the top 10 places to eat near Clemson (on a student budget, of course).

1. The Smokin’ Pig

Located just outside of Clemson, The Smokin’ Pig is hands down the best barbeque place in the area. Not only is their pulled pork to die for, the sides are just as good.

2. Pot Belly Deli

Pot Belly Deli, more commonly known as PBD, is the perfect breakfast/lunch place. Any Clemson student would agree that PBD is the #1 recovery spot after a long night out. You can guarantee a line out the door every weekend morning, but I promise it’s worth it.


3. Backstreets

Backstreets is one of the bars in downtown Clemson. They’re most famous for the “Grilled Cheezus” which is a grilled cheese made with mozzarella sticks. If you’re craving really good bar food, definitely head to Backstreets.

4. Paws Diner

Paws Diner is located in Seneca, not too far from Clemson’s campus. It’s a mom and pop diner that serves the best home-style diner food you can find.

5. El Jimador

El Jimador, more commonly referred to as El Jim, serves some of the best (and cheapest) Mexican food you can find. The free endless chips & salsa are incentive enough to check out El Jim!

6. Esso Club

Esso Club, located in downtown Clemson, serves delicious bar food. Their BBQ plate and wings are absolutely delicious and such a good deal!


7. Todaro’s

I think just about every Clemson student would agree that Todaro’s is the best pizza you can get in the area. They are located in downtown Clemson, and stay open really late on weekends. Todaro’s also has dollar slice night every Wednesday, which is always a huge hit!

8. Sunnyside

Sunnyside is located just past downtown and serves breakfast and lunch. If you’re looking for a really good omelet with home fries—this is the spot to go! The atmosphere is really cute and comfortable, which is a plus!

9. YourPie

YourPie allows you to personalize your pizza in any way you choose! It’s located in downtown Clemson and is super fun to be able to mix and match pizza toppings. They also serve gelato for a sweet treat after your pizza!

10. Spill the Beans

Last but not least, Spill the Beans is the best dessert spot. It’s also located in downtown Clemson. You just choose your ice cream flavor and whatever toppings you want and they blend it all together for you. The combinations are endless!
