These Chipotle Hacks Will Have You Reconsider How You Order

Chipotle has been on a steady rise as far as popularity is concerned. I still remember the very first time I stepped into a Chipotle restaurant (only about 4 months ago, admittedly) not knowing anything about what it was or how it operated. All I knew was that they served primarily Tex-Mex (maybe leaning more to the “Mex” side) foods and that everyone I know had been raving about the place nonstop. I was pretty surprised to see the Subway-style layout of the ordering system and the vast array of food options they provided. Here are some Chipotle hacks you need to know for your next Chipotle trip.

However, as a newbie to the whole Chipotle lifestyle, I didn’t know much about the minutiae of the ins and outs as far as ordering was concerned. Apparently, there are a lot of things you can do to hack the menu that’ll have you change how you order forever.

Don’t order a burrito, order a bowl

When you order a bowl instead of a burrito, you end up getting much more food, and therefore more bang for your buck. On average, people are able to make two burritos from the ingredients in one bowl! After all, there’s only so much space inside those tortillas!

Get ALL the rice

When the time comes for your server to ask you that world-changing question, “brown rice or white rice,” tell them you want both. You’ll end up with a lot more rice (almost double) because the server likely won’t account for the difference. Not to mention you won’t get any extra charge for this!

Ask for a second scoop of meat

After your server puts down one scoop of meat, ask for another. If you ask for two ahead of time, they’ll likely put a smaller amount in each. This way you’ll get all the meat you could possibly want!

Order your food online, especially at lunch time

Anyone who has been to Chipotle more than once can tell you how ridiculous the lines can get, especially when it’s lunch time. A lot of people don’t actually know that Chipotle utilizes an online ordering system, so you can order ahead of time and completely bypass that dreaded lunch rush!

Keep it to 3 ingredients

Apparently, if you only put 3 ingredients on your burrito (an order which has apparently been dubbed as a “3-pointer”) it’ll be a couple dollars cheaper. Keeping things simple is always refreshing, especially when it saves money!
