For the incoming class of 2022 and years to come, when putting into E-Campus and picking your roommates choose wisely! You do not want to get stuck in the worst dorms here at campus full of bugs and who knows what else. To help you guys out, here is the ultimate ranking of freshman dorms at University of Rhode Island. (1st being the best, 10th is the worst)
Hillside is the newest residence hall to URI’s campus being just built in 2012 and houses over 650 first year students in over 4 LLC’s which are: College or Pharmacy, College of Nursing, Chinese Flagship and Communications. This is definitely one of the best freshman dorms at University of Rhode Island!
Barlow had renovations in 2000 which gives it the upper hand and this dorm is for Undecided and Exploring majors.
Weldin hall had renovations in 2001 and even summer renovations in 2016!! Weldin houses a variety of students declared to 3 LLC’s: College of Health Sciences, College of Environment and Health Studies, and the College of Education and Professional Studies.
Browning Hall is the one first year dorm they show you on every campus tour and is home to about 4oo first year students. Browning is home to one of the colleges LLC’s that is the College of Environment and Life Sciences.
Peck Hall houses around 120 students and is home to the LLC of the College of Engineering.
Merrow Hall also houses the College of Engineering and also houses 130 first year students.
Butterfield Hall is amazing because it is right on top of the dining hall and so convenient when you are hungry! A meal plan is required so it is super convenient and this hall houses one LLC that is the College of Education and Professional Studies.
Tucker Hall houses 130 first-year students for the LLC of the College of Engineering. This is one of the best freshman dorms at University of Rhode Island since it’s literally filled with freshman!
Adams is home to 220 first year students majoring in the College of Business! This is another Business LLC starting in 2018.
Faye aka the TRAP in the slums is home to the College of Business and it is also suite style so you have your own bathroom! I lived in a double my first year and I wouldn’t have wanted to live in any other building <3.
Gorham AKA the other TRAP in the slums is home to the College of Business as well and it is also suite style and right next to Fayerweather!
