The Best Mascara For Every Lash Type

There’s so many mascaras on the market it’s hard to know which one will actually work for you and your specific lash types. With that being said, there’s also a lot of different lash types. Whether you’re looking for volume, curl, length, or all three we got you covered! Here are the best mascaras for your lash type.

1. For Fine Lashes

The obvious choice for fine lashes is to add some volume and make them look thicker. More than likely if you have fine lashes they are also sparse so getting all the volume you can would be the most important thing.

Another assumption to be made about fine lashes is that they are more than likely short. So the next thing you’ll want to do is lengthen even though adding volume is the priority.

Behold! The mascara that can do it all is L’oreal Lash Paradise. If you’ve ever been a fan of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara then you’ll love this too, and in our opinion the lash paradise is even better. This will give you the volume you’ve been seeking and also add some length. Definitely one of our top picks.

If your lashes are also in need of a bit of a push up and have a hard time holding a curl we recommend buying this mascara in the waterproof version. Waterproof mascaras always hold a curl for longer and are more durable throughout the day. This by far the best mascara on the market for fine lashes.

2. For Short Lashes

When it comes to drugstore mascara L’oreal just always does it best. If your main concern with your lashes is that they’re too short then L’oreal Telescopic is the best mascara for you. Obviously if you’re struggling with short lashes then the main thing you’ll be wanting from a mascara would be to lengthen them.

Lengthening lashes can be a difficult and messy process with mascara. There are so many on the market that claim to make miracles and “make your lashes look like extensions”. That’ll never be the case and that’s just something you’ll have to expect.

There’s a lot of fiber extension mascaras on the market as well and we recommend to just skip out on those all together. Those get messy and clumpy and that’s never a good look. Luckily Telescopic will give you the length you need without looking clumpy. The brush is actually so small that it separates the lashes very well and gives a great lengthening boost.

Again if you’re struggling with straight lashes we recommend the water proof version so that you can have a curl that holds throughout the day.

3. For Long Lashes

If you already have long lashes then you have truly been blessed. The only concern and wish you’d probably want from a mascara is to make your lashes look darker and fuller. Basically any mascara can make your lashes look darker, but none compare to L’oreal Voluminous.

Not only will this give you the darkest and boldest lashes, but it’s literally called Voluminous aka it’ll give your lashes the volume that you’re seeking. We would say the volume is fairly similar to the lash paradise but it doesn’t lengthen as much.

So if you’re happy with the length of your lashes but just need some boldness and volume then Loreal Voluminous is the best mascara for you.

4. For Naturally Curled Lashes

If your lashes are naturally curled, then again you have been blessed. What you’re more than likely looking for out of mascara is something bold, voluminous, and lengthening. KKW Beauty Mascara does all those things and would be the best mascara for you.

We recommend this mascara for anyone with naturally curled lashes because it is a more wet formula and someone with straight lashes would have a hard time getting their lashes to stay curled with it. Other than that it’s an amazing formula and for people with naturally curled lashes, it could easily become your new favorite.

This is by far one of the blackest if not thee blackest mascara on the market. We’ve literally never seen anything like it. So it’s a sure way to give your lashes a bold and dark look. It gives a little bit of length and the perfect amount of volume as well. The perfect everyday mascara in our opinion!

5. For Straight Lashes

This one is pretty self explanatory because the name of the mascara is Roller Lash by Benefit after all. But it really is the best mascara for straight lashes, and it definitely lives up to its name. The curved wand gives a noticeable lift to the lashes when applying without you even having to curl them.

Not only that, but the formula was specifically made to help your lashes hold a curl, so if that’s your main concern then you’ll love it. If we’re being honest this might be a mascara you want to use in combination with another though because other than the curling aspect it’s pretty average otherwise.

It doesn’t give crazy definition, length, or volume but it does hold a curl the best. If you’re looking for a great everyday mascara that’s semi natural then this would be the best mascara for you.

6. For Fine, Short, And Straight Lashes

Ok so if this is you then you need a mascara that’s a one stop shop for all your lash necessities. The best mascara for you by far will be the Huda Beauty Legit Lashes mascara. As you can see there’s two wants to this mascara that are made for different things.

So the more spiked side of the wand is made for volume and they suggest that you use this on your lashes first to get the first layer on. This will come into play if you have fine lashes and give you the volume you need for them to look fuller.

The second side of the wand is curved similarly to the Benefit Roller Lash. This is going to give your lash a push up effect when applying the mascara and help them form into a shape that will stay all day.

The smaller curved wand is literally called the lengthening side so of course it lengthens your lashes. So this mascara truly does it all. Lifts, lengthens, and gives volume.
